這個禮拜我們將繼續跟我們上個禮拜的3位來賓討論 在台灣生孩子和產後坐月子 的話題。這個周末 我收到很多聽衆們的反應 說這個話題非常有趣！ 很高興再次歡迎來自美國的台灣媳婦Amy，來自新加坡的巧玲媽咪，以及爸爸團的美國代表 Robert 一起分享他們個人的經驗。

Amy is an instructor for TAITRI and she is from the United States. Amy and her husband have a lovely daughter who was born in Taiwan.

媽媽們生產後坐月子對台灣人來說現再平常不過的事了。外國朋友們來到台灣生小孩子這時候會嘗試坐月子這種東西嗎？在台灣生小孩子跟國外有很大的差異嗎？

這個禮拜邀請了三位住在台灣的外國朋友們一起來探討自己的問題！ 很高興邀請到來自美國的台灣媳婦Amy，來自新加坡的巧玲媽咪，以及爸爸團的美國代表 Robert 一起分享他們個人的經驗。如果你身邊有未來的新手爸爸媽媽外國朋友們，非常推薦他們聽這一擊來收集一下一些helpful tips!

Postpartum Care is very common in Taiwan where new parents can choose from professional postpartum care nursing centers, hire a live-in postpartum caretaker, or invite their mother-law to stay to help take care of the baby at their own home. Sometimes it’s even given as a gift package by the grandparents to the new moms and dads to ensure that they can adjust to parenthood with ease. I know in some of the high Asian population areas back in the States, they even have special postpartum food delivery services with menus designed to help new moms recuperate and restore. I think this is such a fascinating subject for other people that do not have this in their own culture so This week we’ve invited three guest panelists， Amy, Ling巧玲, and Robert to share about both having a baby and their postpartum care experiences in Taiwan! If you are about to become a parent yourself, this is a great episode to get some helpful tips and pointers from our guests.

This week we have Polyglot Filip all the way to Iceland again to chat about his unconventional ways of learning languages. The first Taiwanese friend Filip met made such an impression that he decided to plan a two month vacation here which led him to eventually move here to learn Mandarin. But unfortunately, Filip was home in Denmark visiting family when the pandemic broke out so he wasn’t able to get back to Taiwan to continue to learn Mandarin.

What’s unique about Filip is that he is a Polyglot and has a deep passion for learning new languages in unconventional ways. And since discovering his love for Taiwan’s food/culture/people/language, Filip also discovered that he wanted to teach foreigners Mandarin! Really cool right? Be sure to catch up on last week’s episode before listening to this one if you are planning to learn a new language~ There are a few very helpful tips.

因為我覺得上個禮拜跟這禮拜跟 Filip 採訪內容應該是對我們節目正在學習英文台灣聽眾或者是正在學習中文的外國朋友們會是有很大的幫助。所以原本想說我這一集會稍微有個中文的解說。這個想不到我們的特別來賓 Filip 非常的用心！他特別另外幫我錄製了中文版學習語言上的小提醒以及建議。所以等於是 Filip 把他這兩集所講的內容精華全部用中文來表達。然後由我來做深入的解說。Isn’t that so nice~

I truly believe everyone can walk away with some very helpful tips about learning from my chats with Filip. 這個禮拜我將繼續采訪之前在香港教書的好朋友 Keven! Keven“退休”以後在台灣的東岸開發了他的另一個生涯- 他是一個超級稱職的芒果農夫的~ （雖然他跟他老婆都是第一次務農。 上個禮拜五 我和 Jame 跑去第五集來賓 Shaun 的餐廳跟一堆好朋友聚會。但沒想到結果第五集的另一個來賓 Henry 竟然回來台灣了！而且 Keven 那天在他的農地做了一天苦工，晚上也抽空過來。根本是個來賓回顧大團圓！ Happy boys/men = Happy Times~

This week we shall continue with the final segment of my chat with my friend Keven who “retired” from his teaching gig in Hong Kong to move back to Taiwan only to start his career as a professional mango farmer in Taitung! We had a very happy Friday Happy Hour in Formosa reunion with Keven and a few past guests at EP#5’s guest Shaun’s restaurant. I didn’t even realize EP#5‘s Henry already came back from his trip back to England. Felt like he never even left. And as usual, hanging out with these guys is always a good time! Thanks Keven for being an awesome guest on the show!

I love introducing different music created by ex-pats living in Taiwan. And Oli is one of the musicians we’ve featured on the show a few times. Oli has a band called OuYu and he just released his 2nd single “Waiting for Boba” last month. I am super excited to have him on the show today so he can tell us about his creative process as well as what it’s like to be producing music living in Taiwan. 我可能是採訪我身邊朋友上癮了！這個禮拜我邀請到了之前在香港教企管研究所Communications的好朋友 Keven!

Keven 在八零年代第一次來到台灣的時候，他就被台灣的人情風土深深地吸引！後來在補習班一見鍾情地認識了他未來的老婆以後，就回不去美國了。他們因緣際會地在台東買到了一塊看得到好山好水的農地 ，所以Keven跟老婆就搬回來台東，開始他們在台灣的退休生活！他們都是從YouTube上面學習怎麼樣做專業農夫！他們種出來的芒果真的是超級好吃的！應該是用愛種出來的成果吧！

Let’s continue with the “Beverly’s-Friends-Series” by having another one of my good friends on the show this week. Keven first visited Taiwan in the early 80s *considered by many as Taiwan’s golden years! And he fell in love with the place and also met the love of his life. But then he moved to Hong Kong where he taught communications at a university for over 25 years. Just by chance, Keven and his wife stumbled across a piece of farmland on the east coast of Taiwan and decided that he was going to pack up and retire to become a full-time mango farmer!

I always enjoy chatting with Keven and I am always finding out new things about him. And this interview was no exception. Join me and Keven on this two-episode-friend-special to get a glimpse of what it’s like to retire in Taiwan!

你身邊有外國朋友你再考慮帶他們小朋友搬來台灣住嗎？他們一定想過這個問題：是應該讓小朋友所以他們可以完全融入台灣的文化以及學習環境/語言 讓他們去上普通的學校 還是應該讓他們去上雙語或者是英文學校讓他們比較能夠適應這個新的環境呢？這個禮拜我邀請到了我身邊三位來自英國的小女孩們 分別是 Amelia, Sasha 和 Molly 。

Molly 和 Sasha 是姐妹。雖然她們爸爸媽媽是英國人，但是她們兩個都出生在台灣 而且他們爸爸媽媽也讓他們上普通的公立學校。她們的中文程度搞不好還比我好一點嘞, 哈哈！ 然後 Amelia 是差不多兩年前剛從香港搬過來，她現在在一個雙語學校上課。但是今年Sasha 也過去跟 Amelia 上同一個雙語學校了。所以這三個小女生將以她們個人的經驗來跟我們分享這個話題~ 然說她們三個年紀都還小 但是我可都是請她們都實話實說！ 所以我覺得她們的意見真的非常值得家長們參考參考！

這個禮拜我們將繼續 PART2 的 PACK Taiwan 巴克幫-浪犬之家 的執行長 Larry Chi PART2 的采訪。跟上個禮拜一樣，為更多的聽眾更了解台灣流浪貓狗這個問題的重要性，所以會和Larry 用中英對照的方式採訪。
