First, let me go to HotRod and his reverence for Jesus. Rod and I share a lot in common. We love Jesus and we also love to push the edge. In context, I absolutely see where Rod was coming from in in his choice of word to describe Jesus. For the puritans and Pharisees out there, that most likely rubbed you the wrong way. What Rod was saying was Jesus was a rebel. A rebel against the ways of the world. A rebel against organized religion becoming more important than God and his Love. If you are frustrated with religion, then you and Jesus are simpatico. Jesus used the word hypocrites many times to describe the religious. We humans love to make rules and enforce them on others. We often love those rules and politics more than loving God and others as ourselves. So put that in your religious pipe and smoke it. Ponder that. More important. Go to Luke and read Jesus words for yourselves, again and again and you will see it.
Second, why do certain people get healed? Why do others don't? Why do babies have to die? If you were truly listening to this episode then you at least got a better understanding. It's not perfect. This world is not perfect. In fact, this world is brutal and broken where babies die and kids get raped. Sadly even under the disguise of someone pretending to be religious. So let me retort. Why do we want to live on this broken planet forever? Why don't we want Rev 21:4? Truth, most of us don't believe in heaven...that's why. The Bible warns us not to fall in love with this broken planet and its ways. It is clear as day. Yet we all can fall for it - even the best, except one. Jesus is the one. When in doubt, read his words. He has and can heal. Some of you will ask and be healed...thanks be to God. Casey's right, some of you will be healed with Rev 21:4 via Christ. In fact, since earthly healings are temporary, the ones that choose John 3:16 will have eternal healing and life. Your choice.
Disclaimer, as frustrating as this broken planet is. As real as depression is for some of you. I will always encourage you to live your best life here. This is your test. And yes, some of you have had a much tougher test than others. That part I don't fully understand. What I do understand is that it is temporary. It may be 40+ years but it will end. Just like earthly healing are temporary, so are hardships. If you want to live your fullest life here, then fill it with Jesus. Live your life as much with Jeus and you will be more content as Paul writes in his final words. That is a fact Jack and the Truth Ruth. Your choice.
