We might have opened a bit of a floodgate when we covered Tetsuo: The Iron Man in an earlier episode because we haven’t been able to get Japanese body horror off our mind and that led to this, a discussion about one of the most extreme movies we have covered yet! Our "official" 4/20 episode may have been last week, but our recording schedule lined up so that we could keep the celebration going! Hansel and Gretel Get Baked is pretty forward with what it is about. Hansel and Gretel, but with weed. Good thing that the Squirms tend to enjoy fairy tales, witches, and marijuana! Once upon a time, we started this podcast by reviewing Re-Animator because in it Stuart Gordon set a mood that we try to carry throughout the overall feel of this show. Although we have touched on his work since, Mr. Gordon's passing has the boys wanting to pay tribute the best way they know how, and that's to return to his cult classics and take on From Beyond! Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton return, as well as the Lovecraftian inspiration, so you can probably guess if the Squirms like it or not, but listen in to hear all they have to say and send off a true horror master, Stuart Gordon!

A mostly well-intentioned group of college kids goes to the rainforest to help the tribes, and the Fried Squirms follow close behind licking their chops. In 2013, horror veteran Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) made his love letter to the old cannibal exploitation days of Cannibal Holocaust. Even taking the name, The Green Inferno, from the film within the film of that flick.
