After Jesus’ ascension into heaven, we see the eleven remaining apostles abiding in The Vine and producing great fruit for the kingdom.
Main Text: John 15:1-5 (ESV)
“Abide in Me,” Jesus says. It’s the same for us today. We must stay connected to The Source of all Life: Jesus.
Main Text: John 15:1-5 (ESV)
The apostles would produce much fruit for the kingdom of God. You and I can, too. First, we must be born again (John 3:1-21). Second, we must be hearers of God’s Word and doers (James 1:22-25).
Main Text: John 15:1-5 (ESV)
Considering how vital the removed growth is for producing fruit, despite the stress, pruning is essential for a branch’s long-term health as it encourages new growth, increases fruit production, and controls overcrowding.
Main Text: John 15:1-5 (ESV)
Jesus is the true “Being” (Hebrews 13:8). We call ourselves “beings,” but we are “becomings.” Jesus is the True Vine because He is The True Being.
Main Text: John 15:1-5 (ESV)
In Luke 6, Jesus is ministering to the crowds. Then, in verse 20, Scripture states that Jesus “lifted up His eyes on His disciples…” Were there others around, probably, but the preaching of Jesus seems to narrow its focus to His close followers in verse 20. Jesus encourages them, and us today, to follow in His Footsteps.
Main Text: 6:39-45 (ESV)
King David’s response to sin after he asked God for forgiveness is: May my former transgressions be teaching moments for others.
Main Text: Genesis 3:8-13 (ESV)
Three excuses were offered to God when the first couple sinned. King David could have made these same three excuses when Nathan confronted him over his sin with Bathsheba. David demonstrates an utterly different heart toward his shortcomings and hypocrisy.
Main Text: Genesis 3:8-13 (ESV)
Three excuses were offered to God when the first couple sinned. The second excuse is still given to God today, especially by those who express faith in Christ.
Main Text: Genesis 3:8-13 (ESV)
Three excuses were offered to God when the first couple sinned. The second excuse is still given to God today. At the heart of this excuse is blaming others and blaming God.
Main Text: Genesis 3:8-13 (ESV)
