I consider myself someone who knows quite a bit about the world, so when I learned about the 1947 Partition of India (what this week’s podcast is about) I was flabbergasted, because I had never even heard of Partition before. Neha Aziz is the host of Partition and she takes us on a journey of discovery as we learn the details about Partition, but more importantly we learn about the people it affected and hopefully gain some empathy and sympathy along the way.

This week we are talking about Missing Pages, which dives into the sometimes murky water of the publishing world. Before I heard of this podcast I hadn’t given much thought to how my favorite books got into my hands, but my eyes have been opened to the crazy stuff that can happen in the publishing business.
Bethanne describes the show as: An all-new investigative podcast hosted by world-renowned literary critic and publishing insider Bethanne Patrick. Across its eight-episode debut season, Missing Pages uncovers the power struggles, mistaken identities, and unfathomably bad behavior within the secretive world of book publishing. Each episode brings in authors, experts, publishing insiders, and a circus of New York City media elites to tell the real story; unfit for print.

When I’m not listening to a podcast, I’m almost always listening to music…I know I know…I need to find some time for silence, I’m working on it. But this week’s podcast combined both podcasts and music and I was so excited to hear more about Women of Substance from the woman who started it, Bree Noble. This podcast is curated with the best new music by female indie artists and female-fronted bands in all genres.

Self-care seems to be in the lime light right now, but usually when people talk about it they mention bubble baths, pedicures or facials and that can be self-care, but it isn’t the only way to do it. Jenny Lytle is the host of this week’s podcast called Becoming Your Best, where she dives into what self-care really is and what it’s not.

One of my favorite ways to entertain my kids without using a screen is kid podcasts and one of my kids’ favorite podcasters is Mr. Jim. My kids were over the moon excited when they found out that I got to talk to Mr. Jim about his podcasts.
This is how Mr. Jim describes Spyology Squad: Packed with adventure every week, we call these kids stories “spyience-fiction”. In spyology squad, you’ll follow Jayden, Ava and Mr. Jim as they work to defeat Dr. Stinkybreath and his purple ninjas. Every week we’ll learn all about a new subject in science, have fun and save the world together!

You all know that I love to dive into the behind the scenes of creative people, which is one of the reasons I make this podcast, so when I found the Music You’re Missing podcast I was so excited to get to hear about how these musical artists got to where they are today and learn about new music that I probably missed while listening to princess and ninja songs for my kids.
Brendan finds talented artists that you haven't heard of and brings them on his show to give him the attention they deserve. I'm sure you will find some new music that you are going to love.

Many moms think they can only listen to podcasts about being a mom, but that's just not true. If you like Godzilla you should definitely listen to a podcast about Godzilla!
