Miss Layla is an interdisciplinary artist and self-taught perfumer based in L.A. Her interest in fragrance and olfactive endeavors began as a small child when she learned how to cook and “taste shapes”. Later in life, Layla came to know that she had synesthesia, which she harnesses to her advantage when formulating perfume. After contracting COVID-19, she developed chemical sensitivities linked to auto-immune conditions and chronic inflammation. Her purpose and sense of identity is distorted and she struggles to relate to the world she once knew.

In this episode, we take a trip down memory lane and focus on the upside of the downside of, well, being a human being. Included are excerpts from previous guests Jeff Hoskins, Spectra Stewart, Special K, Kathy McCarty, Bodhi Prihoda, Devin Person, Cyndi Collen, Patty Evers, Andy Nolte, and Valarie Iosue. May it be of benefit!
