  • 115 - Alexa, Play This Is America (with Zakiya!) - The Cabin in the Woods (2012)

Welcome back to Fright School: Isolation. It's been a year in the making, but we are finally joined by web programmer, activist, and dear friend of the show Zakiya! We catch up on all thingz Dragz now that Joe has watched it AWWWWLL. Henny. GOOORL. Yaaaass. Joshua and Zakiya share in their mutual love for MRS. AMERICA. The Samsquanch has been watching HOARDERS all morning and eyeing the Wes Craven Memorial Library suspiciously... After the break, we hike out to THE CABIN IN THE WOODS (2012) much to Joshua's chagrin. He's going to get fresh air all over him! We discuss the metaphor of horror film-making, guilty pleasure viewing, race and Joss Whedon, and whether or not this whole thing is about American pride... or hubris.

  • 114 - Menacing Moppet Movie - Cooties (2014)

Welcome back to Fright School! Join us in the John Lafia Memorial Remote Learning Annex. Joshua is just giving up in quarantine and letting the students (Joe) pick all of the movies. We catch up on this week's entertainment. Joshua brings up Lovecraft Country and we chat a little about H.P. Lovecraft's preoccupation with White Supremacy. So fun. Joe talks about unapologetic Blackness in Ugly Betty and #blackaf. After a quick break, we chat the horrors of children regardless of Zombie status. Joshua recounts misadventures in babysitting his sister's children. Joe might want to have some children. Does anyone know if Patti Lupone is available for surrogacy or is it too late? We try to establish when teachers become actual people

  • 113 - Hound Dog Douchebag (with Ashley) - Quarantine (2008)

Welcome back to Fright School! This week we're logging in to the Amelia Earhart Memorial Remote Learning Facility. We're QUEERantining with the fabulous Ashley this week. We get caught up on what's happening: NOTHING. Everything is cancelled. 2020 so shady, ya'll. Joe is watching MONK. Ashley checked out MOM: Mother Of Monsters and recommends it for your isolation viewing. Joshua watched brand new feminist vampire flick BIT and really enjoyed it's biting social commentary. We're so punny. Later, we chat about REC and QUARANTINE and the cognitive dissonance of trust. COVID-19 has got nothing on the Catholic Church.

  • 112 - Bacardi's Rum (possessive) - Zombieland (2009) and Zombieland: Double Tap (2019)

Welcome back to Fright School! This week we're taking up cyberspace in the Howard Hughes Physical Distancing Lounge in the OCD Remote Learning Center. In honor of this week's family focused films, it's just Joe and Joshua. We give some Corona Virus Fashion tips. Joshua is re-watching THE FALL with Gillian Anderson on NETFLIX. Joe has finished Reba and moved on to some other TGIF type happy show to distract from the terror outside. The boys discuss MRS AMERICA on HULU and get a little sidetracked on Second Wave Feminism and the image buffing we seem to like to give conservative figures even when they were factually awful. We kinda talk about ZOMBIELAND and ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP.

  • 111 - The Joshua Before Joshua (with Eve Parker) - The Mist (2007)

Welcome back to Fright School! We are in the Greta Garbo Physical Distancing Remote Learning Center and joining us today is Inspirational Eve, a fellow Halloween Queen and horror hound who helped Joe get his First Time in Drags merit badge! We catch up on RuPaul's Drag Race. Eve tells us about her love of Hammer films, her Quarantine Confession Project and explains what a Psychodrama Therapist does. Joshua is rewatching True Blood for no good reason. Joe regales us with an intimate tale from his gayhood. Joe and Eve share the story of their early days, Summerween, and epic Halloween parties. The group grasps for each other's (double gloved) hands in THE MIST and discusses faith vs disbelief, duty vs fear, giant bugs vs our faceholes. We ask the all important questions: did Coronavirus come from THE MIST and how did the government do it?
