He wore many hats, Admiral of 60 ships, Commander of an army of 1,100 sea hardened men, puppeteer of a secret police across 3 nations, a lover, an artist, a socialite & above all a man of the poor! But every pirate has their horrible misdeeds & Laffite is no exception as his dealings in the slave trade, though nuanced are unforgivable even if it tortured him in his old age.
So let’s look through this Americana legends journal, as we try to figure out what really happened in the War of 1812, during the Battle for New Orleans!
