Lauren Szigeti had to persevere and persist throughout the VFLW for the opportunity at the AFLW. Coached throughout her teenage years by Scott Gowans, he was able to recruit her during this year's draft period and give her the AFLW career she'd dreamed about. To solidify her years of hard work, Lauren was announced co-captain of the Swans ahead of the AFLW's opening round for season 7.
