Today we are applying the Law of Consistency to parents. Now, we all know parenting can be exhausting, exacerbating and seemingly without end. Coupled with work, it seems we’re just trying to get through the day with our sanity intact.  However, too many times expediency takes precedence over consistency. Moms and dads we are all human and as such mistakes will happen. Never-the-less, don’t let your mistakes get you down. Focus your efforts to increase your capacity for consistency one day at a time. Step by step. Because being consistent is essential to raising confident, secure children and teens. When every we choose expediency over consistency it has an affect on our children and teens behavior and character.

Be Intentional When It Comes To Family, Even If Family Is On The Other Side Of The World.

We have back with us, for  Part 2 of my interview with special guest host & Author - Amy Malay and her adopted son Jebastin Malay, from India.  Listen and hear real life application of the Law of Intentionality within the Malay family 
 
 In the year 2003, Amy began sponsoring Jebastin, a young child enrolled with Compassion International in Chennai, India. A few years prior to that, Jebastin lost his mother due to a heart condition and his father was absent in his life due to alcoholism. He was accepted into the child sponsorship program at age five. As an orphan, he “claimed” Amy as his mom when he received her first letter. Little did either of them know that almost 20 years later, and after many letters and texts, they would meet in person. And not only would they meet, but that a true mother-son bond would be realized. As parent leaders in the home, you likewise must hone in on who you are, as the parent. And you need to hone in on what you desire to do regarding yourself & your family.

In this episode, we are applying the law of the mirror to parenting. Today’s society, unfortunately, demands that we have to be a driven employee, we have to be excellent in everything, like our interaction with our managers, peers, friends, spouses. Also all the deadlines involved with projects and work related tasks. But all of this pressure we face every day,  takes its toll on each of us as parents and leaves many us feeling like failures. But you are not a failure, you’ve only failed. And failing here ant there is a far, far cry from being a failure moms & dads. I challenge you to value who you are, so you’ll have the strength to rise when you fail or fall.  Because when you value yourself, nothing can keep you from standing back up when you fail or fall.

Yes, raising children and teens is hard, but a practice of valuing yourself will help you to rise above challenges and truly experience the pleasures of  being a mom, a dad, a parent.
