From Failing Hands

On this third installment of the playoff special episodes, the guys recapped the tremendous win in Game 5 with special attention given to Brendan Gallagher’s heroics. The guys also discussed the Kotkaniemi ejection and how that affected the game specifically and what it means for the sport generally. They also discussed Alain Vigneault’s bizarre comments and whether they think Vigneault is behaving by design or simply reacting in the moment. This week, the guys wrestled with trying to understand what went wrong in Games 3 and 4 against the Flyers, especially going scoreless after a 5-0 beat down in Game 2. They honed in on the fact that the Habs have played reasonably well despite the losses and tried to make a case for less dramatic assessment of the two losses. The guys also discussed what might be wrong with Drouin and laid out their concerns about the growing narratives surrounding Carey Price and how he’s being “wasted”. The boys are back with another special edition of the podcast to discuss Game 1 of their seven game series against the Philadelphia Flyers. A result that had them a little disappointed but managed to yield a lot of positivity from. Before they got into it, the boys sent some well wishes to head coach Claude Julien as he was admitted to hospital after experiencing health distress. They then covered what they expect to see in Game 2, Kirk Muller's role as interim head coach, vented about all the hypothetical nonsense they've been seeing and highlighted some of the less talked about roles that some of the Habs have had in this post season.

This week, the three amigos were back together and did not waste any time. They recapped the Habs series win over the Penguins and previewed the series against the Flyers with a comprehensive comparison of players, their strengths and weaknesses and what to expect from the coaching matchup. They also addressed a question submitted from a listener about whether the Habs should embrace a New England Patriots style approach to management and what the deal is with some fans who are still upset the Habs did not lose to the Penguins in order to possibly win the draft lottery. On Episode 95, the boys recap the Habs massive Game 3 win that put the heavily favourited Pittsburgh Penguins on the brink of elimination in their best of five qualifying series. They also discuss the role Max Domi plays regardless of ice-time, who will be the one to replace Jake Evans and talk about Jake Muzzin and other play-in and round robin match-up's happening around the league. The boys are back and coming in hot! While the Habs are in the post-season, they decided to have you join them twice a week. In this first dose, they recapped games #1 and #2 of the Habs best of five play-in series against the Penguins. They discussed the great, the good, the bad and the ugly and gave their takes on Drouin, Price, line combos and what the Habs will need to do to win the rest of the way.

This week, the guys welcomed to the podcast for a third time, TSN’s Craig Button. The timing could not have been better given the exhibition loss to the Leafs as Craig helped breathe new life into Habs discourse with a reminder of how solid our prospect pool is, why we should continue to be confident in the team and even shed some light on how great a job the NHL is doing with this return to play format. The guys also broke down the exhibition loss to the Leafs and offered some much needed perspective on why we’re still seeing the same problems. The guys finished up with a passionate debate on whether this play-in series means more to Claude Julien than anyone else and whether his tenure with the Habs should be called into question. This week, the guys welcomed back Habs winger Dale Weise.
