From Mining Engineer to Sustainable Battery Recycling Pioneer

Nishchay Chadha, Founder/CEO ACE Green Recycling joins Mike on ERENEWABLE and The Green Insider Podcast, episode 275. Starting as a mining engineer, transitioned from the mining industry to founding ACE Green Recycling, focusing on sustainable battery recycling.

Career Transition: Nishchay Chadha began his career in mining, moved to commercial roles, and eventually entered the recycling industry, gaining extensive global experience before founding his company six years ago.1

Recycling Process: ACE Green Recycling’s approach to recycling lead and lithium batteries is modular, cost-efficient, and environmentally friendly, with fully electrified processes and no toxic emissions.2

Expansion Plans: The company plans to expand its recycling operations in Texas by early next year, aiming for an initial capacity of 30,000 tons per year for lead batteries and 5,000 tons per year for lithium batteries, with future expansion plans.

Nishchay Chadha is the CEO and Co-Founder of Ace Green Recycling, an IP-driven leader of green technologies used to recycle both lead and lithium batteries. Mr. Chadha has worked in the metals space for nearly two decades and has an extensive background in mining engineering. He started his career at Vedanta Resources and later joined Trafigura, one of the world’s largest suppliers of commodities, where he gained tremendous experience from a global perspective in recycling, mining, and supply chain sectors. Mr. Chadha obtained a Master of Business Administration from the Indian School of Business with a focus on Finance, Strategy and Leadership. He also obtained a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad with a focus on Mining Engineering.
