Little Graham Stewart lives on the Prairie with his Father. He comes to school with bruises on his body, he doesn’t want to talk about them. His dad, John Stewart, never remembers doing it and doesn’t even know why he drinks. The Ingalls are aware of everything…as is the entire town of Walnut Grove. When things eventually go overboard…John Stewart finally admits he needs help. If not for himself at least for his son. Where is John Stewart getting his liquor? Is this one of those "special episodes"? Am I the only one who thought of the movie Trainspotting during John's hallucination?
A gunshot in the night announces the arrival of Mr. William O’Hara, a traveling showman with a talking bird and a Congorillia. Residing at Plum Creek, he makes his way into good graces with the Ingalls and the people of Walnut Grove. However, his sideshow antics eventually lead to some hard truths for Half-Pint to learn. How magical is William O' Hara's magical powder? What was really ailing Lars Hanson? Is Harriet going to be the only one in Walnut Grove without her appendix?
Harriet Oleson’s niece, Katy Thorvald, comes for a visit to Walnut Grove and needs some attention. Quicker than scat she develops insta-feelings for the small town doctor. The two quickly become a pair, having picnics, sharing carriage rides and visiting patients together. However, as their love blooms it also sprouts skepticisms from some residents and even Doc Baker himself. Will Doc Baker really end up rocking the cradle of love? How many babies has Doc Baker delivered in the Hero township area? When do we get to hear more about Harriet's extended family?
What starts with the adults reverbs down to the kids when Reverend Alden suggest a new bell for Walnut Grove. Unfortunately, arguing ensues when it can't be determined who or how the bell will be paid for. Local artist/craftsman in residence, Tinker Jones, can't hear the sounds of the anger contingents but can definitely read the body language between the groups. When the kids take sanctuary at his home but begin to act like the quarreling adults....Tinker Jones has had enough and brings the hammer down. With one loud crash he can't even hear, Tinker Jones has come up with a solution to unify the town once again and maybe get some peace and quiet around his house.
