I ran across a clip from an old show that aired from 1974 -1983. The content of this show had an episode called "The Wisdom of Solomon." This particular show had content that's very relative to today's time. The first half of this clip has the classroom teacher, of what seems to be early grade school, asking the students to write an essay about the things they "dislike the most." Solomon being played by a black American boy says that he dislikes "being a nigger" the most. Then in a later scene Solomon is explaining himself to I'm guessing his friend's father. The exchange clearly cause some commotion, not only did Solomon provide the necessary truth, noting that if he were white his father would still be alive. He later supported his statement with the following exchange this is Solomon: tell me something sir, would you like to live to be 100? the guy: (responds) I'm sure I would. It's not very likely... I guess all of us would like to live to a ripe old age. Solomon: (then ask) would you rather be black and live to be 100 or white and live to be 50? No one wants to answer that question not even his screen counterpart who just walked out. I guess my questions to everyone is 1. What do you dislike the most? 2. Although my shoes are comfortable for me to walk in, would want to walk in my shoes?
