Connie Voisine is the author of three full-length collections of poetry, Cathedral of the North , which won the 1999 AWP Prize in Poetry, Rare High Meadow of Which I Might Dream , which was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Award, and 2015’s Calle Florista . Her most recent chapbook, And God Created Women was published in 2018, and later this year, she will release a book-length poem set in Belfast, Northern Ireland titled The Bower . We were delighted to have in our studio today Director Kathy Bowers and actors Pat Marvel and Tom Sanderson, who came to present the particulars of Ignite! Community Theatre’s upcoming two-person play. “Life Support” follows Carol (Pat) and Alan (Tom), a pair of strangers who meet in the waiting room of a hospital as their spouses undergo treatment for life-threatening conditions. Playwright and actor Molly Allen's new play "Closing It Up" will be staged at The Bing Saturday, February 2nd in advance of the AACT-American Association of Community Theatre Festival. Director David Baker and actors Dallan Starks, Athena Lauzon and Audrey Overstreet of Spokane Civic Theatre took to the mic to give us the details on their production of the classic stage comedy “You Can’t Take It with You,” in which a young woman from a good-humored but eccentric family becomes engaged to a man from a family of Wall Street snobs— and upon meeting, the two households clash.
