Welcome to Episode 13 of From the Wastes! Phantom Dark Dave joins me to discuss the 1979 film, Mad Max.
This was Dave's first time viewing the film and I thought it would be interesting to get a fresh perspective of an older film from a film buff such as he. Did he like it? What did he think about it? You'll have to listen to find out. ;)
You can find Dave on twitter, as well as his Podcast from Another World, featured on the Terrible Terror podcast. Dave is a fan of all things film and a fellow Trekkie. Always keeping it fresh with new projects and ideas, it was a real treat to have him on the show and give us his insight into the one that started it all, Mad Max.

Welcome to episode 12 of From the Wastes! Today's guest is Here on Mars... musician and fan of scifi, the apocalypse, and common sense.
I met Randy a few years ago through Phantom Dark Dave and was immediately taken with his intelligence and musical ability. Randy hails from Kansas City where he weaves futuristic soundscapes with rock guitar and vocals and sci-fi dystopian themes.
We chat about his musical beginnings and then we get into the apocalypse, where I ask the tough questions.
Check him out on Twitter and head over to Bandcamp and Youtube to give him a listen. You won't be disappointed.

Welcome to Episode 011 of From the Wastes! Today's guest is David Liban. Writer, producer, and director of the coming-of-age film, A Feral World. The story of an orphaned boy in a post-apocalyptic world, who meets a grieving woman who is trying to find her lost daughter.
David talks about his experience making the film and what it was like working with his son, filming over the course of four years. We chat about David's favorite PA movies and even manage to squeeze some Star Trek in.
David can be found on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, IMDB, and his website.

Welcome to Episode 10 of From the Wastes! This is the first episode of Trek Talk to be featured on FtW. Trek Talk is a group of four Star Trek fans who like to get together and chat about episodes (and movies) from the Star Trek universe. Join myself, Johnny Staggs, Phantom Dark Dave, and Randy of Here On Mars as we discuss the postapoc episode from the original Star Trek series, Miri.
Trek Talk originated on Dave's Pop Culture Podcast and when Dave made the decision to end that podcast, he graciously gave me permission to continue the tradition here. His episodes are still available to listen to and I strongly recommend doing so if you are a fan of classic horror and science fiction. And please check out his new podcast, The Podcast from Another World, episodes being featured on the Terrible Terror podcast. Dave will be talking about classic SciFi movies up through the 1980's.
If you're a fan of kick ass indie synth rock, make sure to check out Here On Mars. You can find Randy on Twitter, Youtube, and Bandcamp (links below).
And if you're a fan of Star Trek and want to connect with one of the nicest guys on the internet, pay Johnny Staggs a visit on the Twitters (link below).

Rutger Hauer passed away July 19, 2019 at the age of 75. He was one of my favorite actors, starring in some of my favorite films. I wanted to spend some time talking about what Rutger meant to me, along with couple of these films... Split Second, Blood of Heroes, and Omega Doom. The man was truly larger than life and made a huge impact on me as a teenager in the 80's.
Rest in peace, Mr. Hauer.

We're seven episodes in and I realized that I never did an "intro" episode. I thought about just sitting down and telling you all about me and what I'm doing, but that would be boring...cuz I ain't the most exciting guy.
So... I took it to the twitters, and a fella (@Mark_Cordory) suggested that I do something akin to reddit's AMA thing.
So here we are... twenty questions asked by the coolest cats out there.
* Intro/Outro music by me.

Welcome to Episode 006 of From the Wastes in which I chat with Evan Pickering. Independent author and creator of the post-apocalyptic book series, American Rebirth. We discuss his books, the PA genre in general, movies, video games, Cormac McCarthy and Richard Matheson, using social media for marketing, how he deals with negative reviews, and FF III (or VI) on the SNES.
You can find Mr. Pickering on Twitter @EvanPArthur and his books on Amazon.
Welcome to episode 005 of From the Wastes. I chat with J.J. Shurte, author and writer of Days Too Dark, a post-apocalyptic tale of a future Australia that has literally been turned upside down. We talk about his book as well as PA video games, movies, and television shows. I keep bringing up Mad Max, so there's quite a bit of that as well. JJ talks about a new book project he's publishing soon that might well change the face of PA fiction, offering writers an amazing resource.
J.J.'s blog can be found at www.jjshurte.com and he's fond of posting on Twitter, @JJShurte. His book, Days Too Dark, can be found on Amazon.
Episode 004 of From the Wastes... it was my honor to talk to Arthur H. Walker, creator of the science fiction/dystopian/biopunk series, the Uroboros Saga. His books quickly became some of my favorites among the indieauthor world.
Arthur is also involved in the gamedev arena, poking pixels into proper shapes, and crafting user experiences for games on mobile platforms. He's particulary keen on Lenovo machines and Ubuntu languages.
Arthur can be found on Twitter @ArthurHWalker and on Tumblr, arthurhwalker.tumblr.com.
