What does it actually mean to be persecuted?  What does it really cost us to follow Jesus. This beatitude is at the heart of the gospel.

Oh boy...this passage is so convicting.  Peace is not passive, it's sacrificial and costly and its the way of Jesus.

Are our motives pure in how we serve others and God?  Jesus cuts right to the heart of his mission in this world...to glorify his Father and serve others, but do we do the same?

We are consumers of mercy and that's where all the problems begin.  If we don't understand mercy how will we extend it? 

We are all trying to fill our lives with something...the question is what.  Some things will bring you life and other things will take life from you.

Is meekness weakness?  In this passage, we see the power in meekness and the way it can transform the world.

Mourning is human, but many of us really struggle with it.  Jesus is inviting us into His heart and comfort.

God's way is opposite of our way...Jesus is trying to help us understand what Kingdom living is all about.

Most of us are completely unaware of our souls and how they impact our lives.  David is directing us in this Psalm to start doing soul talk.

We are prone to fear and worry which is stealing our understand of real love.  John is opening our eyes to the real truth about perfect love.
