This chapter of Psalms gives all of us hope, because it points to how a perfect God embraces imperfect people.

Here's the passage:

'Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord ? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not appealed to what is false, and who has not sworn deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the Lord , and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Such is the generation of those who inquire of him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah '

Psalms 24:3-6

I love how David writes this Psalm and uses imagery and nature to make a powerful point of how we should live our lives. It's such a great passage. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do talking about it.

Here's the passage:

'The heavens declare the glory of God, and the expanse proclaims the work of his hands. Day after day they pour out speech; night after night they communicate knowledge. There is no speech; there are no words; their voice is not heard. Their message has gone out to the whole earth, and their words to the ends of the world... May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, Lord , my rock and my Redeemer.'

Psalms 19:1-4,14 CSB

How do you go through life "unshaken"? Psalm 15 has some insight. Here's the passage:

' Lord , who can dwell in your tent? Who can live on your holy mountain? The one who lives blamelessly, practices righteousness, and acknowledges the truth in his heart — who does not slander with his tongue, who does not harm his friend or discredit his neighbor, who despises the one rejected by the Lord but honors those who fear the Lord , who keeps his word whatever the cost, who does not lend his silver at interest or take a bribe against the innocent — the one who does these things will never be shaken.'

Psalms 15:1-5

Have you ever felt like you were under attack? Not because you were in the wrong per se, but because you felt like the world was out to get you? This message is for you, my friend!

Here's the Scripture:

' Lord , how my foes increase! There are many who attack me. Many say about me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah But you, Lord , are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. I cry aloud to the Lord , and he answers me from his holy mountain. Selah I lie down and sleep; I wake again because the Lord sustains me. I will not be afraid of thousands of people who have taken their stand against me on every side. Rise up, Lord ! Save me, my God! You strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked. Salvation belongs to the Lord ; may your blessing be on your people. Selah'

Psalms 3:1-8

What does it take for a man to be truly happy? Psalm 1 is all about what it looks like for a man to be happy and what it looks like for a man to be unhappy. In this episode, we walk through this short chapter, explain what it means, and then apply it to our everyday life.

Here's the Psalm:

'How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the Lord ’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. He is like a tree planted beside flowing streams that bears its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. The wicked are not like this; instead, they are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand up in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin.'

Psalm 1:1-6

I recently sat down with my three daughters to ask them some candid questions about their experience under my spiritual direction in the home. Needless to say, I learned a lot about what I could be doing better! Hopefully this will encourage you to have some conversations about faith and life with your kids too!

When you determine in your heart to take a stand for what's right - to be who God has called you to be - His favor follows you. And you know what? Favor ain't fair! 'Daniel determined that he would not defile himself with the king’s food or with the wine he drank. So he asked permission from the chief eunuch not to defile himself. God had granted Daniel kindness and compassion from the chief eunuch, yet he said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who assigned your food and drink. What if he sees your faces looking thinner than the other young men your age? You would endanger my life with the king.” So Daniel said to the guard whom the chief eunuch had assigned to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, “Please test your servants for ten days. Let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then examine our appearance and the appearance of the young men who are eating the king’s food, and deal with your servants based on what you see.” He agreed with them about this and tested them for ten days. At the end of ten days they looked better and healthier than all the young men who were eating the king’s food. So the guard continued to remove their food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables. God gave these four young men knowledge and understanding in every kind of literature and wisdom. Daniel also understood visions and dreams of every kind. At the end of the time that the king had said to present them, the chief eunuch presented them to Nebuchadnezzar. The king interviewed them, and among all of them, no one was found equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. So they began to attend the king. In every matter of wisdom and understanding that the king consulted them about, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and mediums in his entire kingdom. Daniel remained there until the first year of King Cyrus.'

Daniel 1:8-21

This is my favorite miracle of Elisha, and he's not even alive to see it happen! A dead man is thrown into his tomb and bumps into the bones of Elisha. The man comes back to life! It's a crazy story that has implications for how we live our lives today.

Here's the scripture:

'Then Elisha died and was buried. Now Moabite raiders used to come into the land in the spring of the year. Once, as the Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a raiding party, so they threw the man into Elisha’s tomb. When he touched Elisha’s bones, the man revived and stood up! '

2 Kings 13:20-21

Practicing this one principle will remove 99% of the problems in your life. Are you up for the challenge?

Then he said, “Pick it up.” So he reached out and took it. '
