FTN Episode 390 – How Quickly Should Organized Play Events Adopt FAQs?

Listen Later

Events around the world are beginning to use the most recently updated FAQs and allow the new codexes.  We ask the question ‘when’ should this happen?  Should there be a delay from publish to acceptance for independent events?  Are we stuck in the past because we don’t allow them at events as soon as they hit the web?

Hey all,

Please note that we do not wish to solve this for any organizers. We just want to talk about it and introduce some talking points and that we strongly feel like the organizers should do what they feel is right for their attendees.

Organizers take all the risks and it is often largely a thankless and zero sum job.  They don’t need the additional heartache of trying to predict web releases from Games Workshop.

GW does an amazing job turning around FAQs and making the information available to anyone.  If you care to stay up on the latest rulings and clarification you can do so absolutely free on the GW Community page.

Later in the show Paul whines a bit about putting together Iron Stiders but contends they are soooooooo worth it.  This use is stellar and with just a little savvy on the table they will work wonders.

Towards the end of the show Adam asks us what our three favorite Heresy Characters are.  While this is completely subjective it gives us some pretty cool talking points and it’s always fun to stroll down memory lane remembering these characters and stories.

We’re delighted to continue to represent Discount Games Inc as sponsor of our show. They are helping bring FTN to you. Please check them out and support the organizations that support us. Discount Games Inc. offers Games Workshop products at 15% off the suggested retail at their website here. You can send an email to the owner Jay. These guys run a podcast too! Check them out.

FTN mostly focuses on 40k, but again you will see in the first few episodes we take a severe deep dive into nerdom. These have been a blast to record and I hope they help pass the time for you. We are now on Pandora!! If you’re looking for another place to listen or you’ve shifted to that platform you can find us there.
