Laodicea could be called 'The Church Of Self-Deceit And Self-Conceit'. Instead of trusting Christ for salvation and whatever else they needed, they trusted in themselves. In this amazing letter, Jesus displays His great love for them by telling them the truth so they could make corrections and experience all He has for them. This letter is also significant in that it is the last message Jesus has for His Church and may have direct implications to the times we are currently living in!

This 6th letter to the churches of the Apocalypse is an encouraging one. The church at Philadelphia may have been under pressure to deny the Name of Jesus and the Word of God, but they held fast and glorified Him in all they did. In this letter, Jesus responds with encouragement and praise. He was very pleased with the way they were carrying themselves in the world. And His Words will provide encouragement to us as well. Especially in these days when following Jesus faithfully can be a challenge. This letter is full of truths we can immediately apply to our day to day lives.
