Today’s guest is Udo Erasmus, founder of Udo’s Choice and author of the book Fats That Heal Fats that Kill, which has sold over 250,000 copies. As an acclaimed author and speaker, Udo has an 8-step process that takes into consideration all of the elements of nature and human nature, including physical health, mental health, presence and awareness, life energy, and being in harmony with nature and humanity. Udo’s background includes studies in biochemistry, genetics, biology, and nutrition as well as a master’s degree in counseling psychology.

Rev. Donna Dinsmore: An imaginative exercise for someone who is in the middle of a conflict.

This contemplative practice is especially beneficial for someone who is in the midst of a conflict. or an uncertainty. And I think it's especially clarifying for a leader who actually has to do something about this conflict or uncertainty.

Our guest today is Donna Dismore.

Donna was raised in a small farming community in northern Maine, taught choral music in the South Carolina public schools for 17 years, and moved to Vancouver, BC in 1996 to read and write at Regent College for a couple of years. She spent nine years at Regent (!) studying, working and teaching as a sessional lecturer. Twenty-six years later she is an ordained minister in the United Church of Canada and will "play in any sandbox that will have her."

Donna has consulted for and with communities in New Zealand, Newfoundland, Washington, British Columbia and Alberta, mostly in the areas of worship, music and group discernment. Preparing and facilitating retreats that are organic to the group is one of her greatest joys.

Donna is passionate about delving into the spirituality of change for congregations and groups of any kind. She is a partner in the SoulStream Community, currently a Transitional Minister at Brighouse United Church in Richmond, a voracious reader, and a lover of her canine companion, Tucker.

Esther reads the story and then invites us to imagine ourselves in the story. What do we see? What do we hear? What is it like to be noticed and spoken to by Jesus?

Deb Arndt offers the following exercise…

Start with prayer and breath and become centered in your own body.

Become attentive to what you are hearing in the soundscape around you. Give yourself over to the sound that is coming to you right then.

What surfaces? Is there something there to pay attention to? In Deb‘s case, it was a sound that annoyed her Remain there. Make room. Don’t force a connection or an application. What surfaces that might need some attention?

Choose how you want to end it - read something, be grateful.

She has served as a Pastor of Spiritual Formation, offered many workshops and retreats, and continues to companion others in spiritual direction. Deb enjoys nature, hiking, deep connections with others, belly laughs, reading, good food and drink, and their Bernese Mountain dog Ralph.
