Great response so far to 2023’s brand new research update, Sacred West. Thank you all!

With Bitcoin just shy of US $30,000 each as this episode goes to publication, the tea leaves suggest Senators Warren and Brown may try to use Bitcoin — and the broader crypto community — as their punching bag.
Yet crypto has been around for 14 years.
Something like 20 percent of Americans now hold or own some of the major cryptos.
Crypto didn’t break the banking system; unjustified rate hikes from the Fed did. Interest rate hikes put undue stress on banks’ balance sheets, at a time when they are already structurally weak from underperforming commercial real estate holdings.
Especially as Europe and Saudi Arabia are turning away from the dollar — and as Asia is getting back into the crypto game (Hong Kong’s decision, etc.) — it would unduly cripple American investors and users to shut them out of this still developing, although admittedly volatile, asset class.
The Senators should turn away from the self-interested lobbyists whispering in their ears and instead do what is right for American consumers, investors, and companies.
Brown, Warren, and others have an obligation to do what is right for all stakeholders in our financial system, not merely for politicized bag holders of the central bank.

France outlaws all cash payments above 1000 euros, in a move that brings the European nation further along the path of a dystopian centrally controlled economy.
Luckily, there’s Bitcoin.
On today’s show: France moves to outlaw large cash payments made in euros.

What actually happened with cryptocurrency is something wild: Satoshi didn't just give us superior money, he gave us an anti-fragile social structure for the 21st century. Long after the banks and maybe even some of the governments go functionally if not actually bankrupt (i.e. they can hyper inflate their currency to repay debts, but at the expense of all remaining credibility), Bitcoin and other major networks like perhaps Litecoin will still have users, accepting merchants, and name recognition.

On this weekend’s episode of the podcast: Christine Lagarde and other outlandish elderly bureaucrats have begun their predictable end game rage fit against Bitcoin’s resilience — it survived the pandemic, and then thrived through the recent banking crisis flash panic.
Up nearly 70 percent YTD. Not a problem for Bitcoin users, to be sure, but a big issue for those centralized controllers who declared Bitcoin dead and its believers ridiculous loons. Markets have revealed the Bitcoin cynic to be most ridiculous of all.
In bucking their narrative that it cannot be trusted, it should now be outlawed or strictly curtailed, in their view.
Yet there are many of us in this world — nearly 8 billion souls — who just won’t be bound to an inferior yoke. Bitcoin is here, and not going away. Whether legacy establishmentarians like Lagarde and Podesta and Soros can come around to that technological fact is not our concern.
They tried to kill Bitcoin in 2023 with almost unilaterally negative sudden coverage (CNBC et al), murky regulatory interpretations, and grossly exaggerated claims of potential harm (Senator Warren’s “anti-crypto army” rhetoric, etc.) — yet it rallied nearly 70 percent against the US dollar, making them all look foolish.
Bitcoin’s recent success is no doubt part of why it attracts their scorn now. They intended for it to play dead in this final round, and instead it is punching like a true financial heavyweight. Most inconvenient!

On today’s Friday update: the Maryland Attorney General’s office is investigating heinous accusations that at least 158 priests abused and even physically “tortured” 600 or more child victims in the DMV area. Plus, breakthrough in Alzheimer’s research — something called gamma wave entrainment, assisted by machine learning and AI algorithms, could “jumpstart” the brain into regaining previous healthy activity.
Researchers believe noninvasive gamma entrainment sequences could restore previous brain function to those suffering from Alzheimer’s and other cognitive disorders. More research is needed, of course.
