The median age of the new Senate is 64.7 years, down from 65.3 at the start of the prior Congress. The median age of the Senate had previously risen for three Congresses in a row." "Data confirms the trend: As of 2025, nearly 120 members (about 22%) are 70 or older, the highest ever, compared to just 6% under 40, fueling debates on gerontocracy and its impact on youth-facing issues like housing affordability."

    Hollywood's latest drama unfolds! Warner Brothers is officially for sale and the bidders include Paramount, Comcast, and Netflix. Paramount Skydance (CEO, David Ellison) is bidding for the entire company, while Comcast and Netflix are offering to purchase specific parts like the studios and streaming services. The company has not yet accepted an offer, and it could be sold as a whole or split into separate parts. It will be interesting to see which of these companies make the purchase as that will change the direction for the Warner Brothers' legacy. Will this sale hurt the local economy in Burbank? If so, will housing prices fall? However, possibly prices may go up with time since more studios may be built that will bring back jobs. Zach Snyder is also in the news on whether he's returning back to the Justice League. The Snyderverse movement is strong and Zach continues to drop cryptic messages that has stirred the pot for a potential new Justice League series.   • Born to Rent: Why Today's 20-30 year olds have issues Affording a Home, even with 50 year Mortgages

    Nepo Homebuyers- About 39% of all homeowners received down payment help, with parents being a major source of this support The percentage is much higher for younger generations.

    Roughly 78% of Gen Z homeowners and 54% of millennials received down payment help from family. Median age for a first time homebuyer is 40 years old according to NAR. It was 38 years old last year.

    The typical repeat buyer is now 62. The typical U.S. homeowner stays in their house for 11.8 years, according to Redfin. More than 50% of Gen Zers and nearly 60% of millennials reported that they’re depending on their inheritance to achieve financial security and retire in comfort, per Northwestern Mutual. 2025, 50% of first-time home buyers were married couples. This data comes from the National Association of Realtors' (NAR) 2025 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers report, which typically covers the period from mid-2024 to mid-2025.

    • 10% single men
    • 15% unmarried couples or other household compositions
