Coach and JMV talk about the world of high-school football wrapping up their final regular season games today. Center Grove and Cathedral are two goliaths taking to the field tonight. Center Grove is a two time defending champ ranked 1st in the state going up agianst the 6th ranked Cathedral. A lot of unbeaten teams will be facing each other in their final regular season game which may have impact going into the those powerhouses playoff runs. Coach Lovell says that tournament this year is looking good because a handfull of traditionall good schools struggled this year as they had personnel changes. So there will be some unique matchups to be seen.
(39:34 - 43:31) - Touch and go shout out to the Philadelphia Phillies advancing to the NLCS for the second straight year. Does the chacne for rain in the IU vs. Michigan game make a difference for IU?
(43:32 - 1:06:33) - Mike Wells of ESPN Radio calls in to the show to talk Colts football. Before the football talk begins, Wells reveals that he and JMV's kids will be playing each other in basketball in a few weeks. Moving on, the conversation turns to whether or not Minshew stays the starter when Richardson is healthy again. While there is a lot of positivity around Minshews play so far this season is it important you have him start to make a playoff push or develop Richardson more. JMV and Wells believe that Colt's head-coach Shane Steichen has a lot more control over this team than previous coaches have. The two go back and forth about what they think the Indiana Pacers final record is going to be this season.
(1:06:34 - 1:23:07) - Next up on the guest list is Spero Dedes of CBS Sports. Spero believes that Minshew is a back-up quarterback that knows what he is stepping into and can lead the team while Richardson is injured. Coming back to Jacksonville where Minshew-mania started there will be a lot of momentum and something to prove for him as a quarterback. What pressure is there to give more snaps to Jonathan Taylor with his new contract and his return from injury? Will Zack Moss's momentum as runningback persist for most of the season? As a broadcaster does Dedes give any credit to a stat like "The Colts haven't won in Jacksonville since 2014."
(1:23:08 - 1:27:11) - JMV and Chris Hagan discuss Friday the 13th and other horror movies they remember growing up.
(1:27:12 - 1:53:50) - Voice of the Hoosiers Don Fischer talk with JMV. He is already in Michigan getting prepared for IU's matchup against the second ranked Wolverines. The rivalry between IU and Michigan has been one sided for the past two decades, however the Hoosier did beat them as recently as 2020. Fischer says not to be surprised if they are at least able to stay competitive during the game. Two freshman quarterbacks trying to earn IU's starting spot is not beneficial to the team according to Fischer. It leads to two young players starting to fall behind on gaining the experience neccessary to lead a championship capable football team. Fischer believes that Tom Allen's coaching strategy is not going to change as the season moves on. He just wants his team to get the job done. Don and JMV talk about The Eagles farewell show in Indy last week.
(1:53:51 - 2:06:42) - Justin Dunk of the Bleav podcast network for the Jackson Jaguars and 3DownNation is the final of six guests on the jam packed Friday show. Dunk claims that Jacksonville takes pride in the way they've defended the home field against the Colts over the years. Dunk talks about how the team has really prioritized their players energy. He gives the fact that Jacksonville was in London well before Buffalo made it there and that might have made them the better team as they had longer to adjust to the time zone. The Jags have a mentality where they are ready to really surprise people by making the playoffs again and making a run post-season run.
(2:06:43 - 2:08:00) - Touch and go Outro previewing next week.
