He also previews tonight’s playoff matchup between the Fever and the Sun, where the Fever will try and keep their season alive in an elimination game. He discusses the eye-poke to Catlin Clark in Game 1, and if it was intentional.  

26:25 – 41:09 – Zach Osterman of the IndyStar joins the show! Zach previews IU-Maryland, and how excitement for the game is building due to IU’s 4-0 start and how decisive the victories have been. They also discuss the potential weather situation, as Hurricane Helene looks to make landfall soon, and how that might affect the gameplan of both teams should it become a factor. Zach and JMV also talk IU Basketball.

43:34 – 1:11:49 – Kevin Bowen from the morning show The Wake-Up Call w/KB & Andy joins the show! Kevin and JMV talk the Fever, and their matchup with the Sun. They give their thoughts on the Caitlin Clark eye-poke, as well as the WNBA playoff format. They talk about how the league has clearly not been ready for the increased attention Clark has brought. Kevin and JMV talk some Pacers, before previewing Week 4 between the Colts and Steelers.  

1:11:50 – 1:22:03 – JMV keeps things rolling by talking more IU, Colts and more, while also reading some tweets from listeners of the show! 

1:22:04 – 1:25:56 – JMV wraps up the 2nd hour of the show. 

1:25:57 – 1:52:19 – James Boyd of The Athletic joins the show! James and JMV preview tonight’s Fever-Sun matchup, and if Caitlin Clark will play better than she did in Game 1. They talk about the WNBA’s Best of 3 playoff format, and if that will change to a Best of 5 soon. They then switch to the Colts, and the accuracy issues of quarterback Anthony Richardson.
