Former Principal Cornet of The International Staff Band, Roland Cobb, joins Matthew to talk about his life and the ISB in 1940s and 50s. Following the recent promotion to glory of Brian Bowen, we thought it would be fitting to look at Brian’s much-loved piece, ‘My comfort and strength’. Dr Dorothy Gates, a friend and colleague of Brian’s, was the obvious choice for this analysis.
Peter Kim is this month’s guest on Arid Island Album, before Bandmastermind – with a difference – completes the episode.
