First, The plaintiff was a cheerleader and met the defendant, a football player, in college. They started dating, had a child, and moved in together. The plaintiff says the defendant took her car without her permission and, after a fight, damaged her car and apartment. She’s suing for car and apartment damages. The defendant argues he had permission to drive the car and that she instigated the events that led to the damage.

Then, The plaintiff says she took in her grandchildren six years ago, and she claims she gave the defendant money for a puppy for the kids. She never got the dog, so she’s suing him. The defendant says he used to run the streets, but now he runs a nonprofit. He’s countersuing the plaintiff for defamation.
