This week I caught up with Eliot Rahal, the writer and originator of Cult Classic, coming soon from Vault Comics.  This is a shared universe of horror stories.  The first one, Return to Whisper debuts on February 28th.  I’ve read the first issue and it is off to a great start.

I’ve got a twofer on deck this week!  My guests are Vita Ayala and Emily Pearson, the creative team behind The Wilds, set to debuts on February 28th from Black Mask Studios.  It’s a crazy post-apocalyptic story where a horrifying plague has decimated the human population.  I’ve only seen the first five pages and I’m already hooked.  

If you want to pick up The Wilds, your best bet is to pre-order the book at your local comic shop.  The final order cutoff date is January 8th, so be sure to let your shop know that you want the book before then.  I probably don’t have to tell you this, but pre-orders are super important for comics so tell your shop you want this.

This week’s guest is M.L. Miller, the writer of Gravetrancers, set for release on December 13th from Black Mask Studios.  The comic is illustrated by James Whynot and follows two young people out to find their father’s grave.  What they find instead is a bizarre family of grave-robbers and drug dealers.  The drug in question is made from human remains.  It’s a super creepy book and well worth your time.

This week I had the pleasure to speak with Megan Rose Gedris, the writer, artist, inker, colorist, EVERYTHING of Spectacle from Oni Press.  It’s a supernatural murder mystery series set at a circus.  Spectacle is currently being published as a webcomic which you can read for free at SpectacleComic.com.  If you don’t want to wait, you can pick up complete issues digitally through ComiXology.  The first two issues are available now with issue #3 dropping on December 6th.

This week’s guest is Jordan Hart, the writer of Doppelganger, now available from Alterna Comics.  Doppelganger follows Dennis Zimmann, a timid computer engineer who suddenly meets his exact double.  He’s told he’ll die in 36 hours and if anyone sees the two of them together, they’ll die.  Now he has to stand up for himself for the first time in his life.  

Doppelganger began life as a digital comic and you can buy all four issues on ComiXology right now.  The first issue just hit comic shops this week and it’s only $1.50!  You’ll hear us reference November 29th as the release date a couple times in the episode, but it turns out the release date was moved up a week.

I’ve got a twofer for you this week as my guests are Tim Seeley and Stephen Molnar, the creative team behind Imaginary Fiends, debuting on November 22nd from Vertigo.  The comic follows a young woman named Melba who has been in a juvenile detention center for the past six years after brutally murdering her friend.  It turns out she did this because her imaginary friend told her to.  This gets her recruited by a mysterious group within the FBI to handle these Interdimensional Mental Parasites.  The premise of Imaginary Fiends is top notch and it quickly establishes a world of endless storytelling possibilities.  Plus, it’s creepy as Hell.
