Its our last week of our White Elephant party.  This is Todd’s contribution, a collection of Batman tales limited to Black and White.  Cleverly named: Batman Black and White.

Next week we start our month of First, beginnings, and origins.  We start with a tale that is “The Beginning of the End”.  We are reading The Infinity Gauntlet.

This weeks White Elephant book comes from Bryan.  A tale of a bearded little lady and her pet monster.  A fun book about freak show characters that is fun for kids of all ages. From Eric Powell, creator of the Goon, we’re reading Chimichanga.

Next week is a variety of Batman tales with Batman:Black and White.  A collection of stories from legendary comicbook creators.

This week we are diving into the end of Alan Davis’ run on Excalibur. Q’s white elephant gift to us all gives us the warpies story line, as well as the return of the Dark Phoenix.

Next Week is Bryan’s recommendation: Eric Powells Chimichanga.  A fun little story about a bearded young lady and her pet monster.

This month each member of the panel is sharing a personal favorite with the rest of us.  Its our version of a white elephant party.  This week its Adams pick: Scott Pilgrim!  The book that got Adam back into comics as an adult.  Its a fun, heartfelt, action packed, romance in Canada (how can you go wrong?).

Next Week is Q's choice.  It's his favorite author, writing his favorite character, in his favorite comic book. Were reading Excalibur: Marvel Visionaries Mark Davis Vol 3.  Its the return of the Dark Phoenix.

In a world where superheroes spend their time away from helping people, being complete assholes.  Garth Ennis takes on the superhero genre again, this time with art from Darick Robertson. 

Next week we begin our holidays.  Each member of the panel has picked a book they love to share with the rest of us.  We start with Adams pick: Scott Pilgrim vol 1, Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life. The classic tale of boy meets girl, boy has to fight girls seven evil exe’s.  

Were still scratching out heads about this one.  It all started with our confusion about the title, and got worse from there.  This week were reading the surreal Manga parody, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo.  Try getting your spell check not to freak out over that combination of letters.

Next week its The Boys, a secret CIA group established to keep ill-behaved superhero in line. From the same writer as Preacher, Garth Ennis. And the same artist of Transmetropolitian, Darick Robertson.

From one Halloween to the next, Batman is on a quest to catch the “Holliday” killer.  On this weeks episode, The Long Halloween, from the powerful combination of Jeph Loeb, and Tim Sale.

Next week we get newsworthy when we discus The Nightly News, with words and art by Jonathan Hickman. Not only is it election time, its also the 10 year anniversary of this book.  I would like to claim we planned that, but it was actually dumb luck.

With the Doctor Strange movie coming up, we dove into a Doctor Strange comic.  Doctor Strange: The Oath, a self contained story, with a good dose of back-story. 

For an extra bonus, we were joined by our first guest bartender.  Rich from The Cellar Spirit Room in Fullerton created “The Elixir” a craft cocktail that ties in perfectly for this book.
