Laura & Ronnie started Mallows Beauty at the start of 2020 with the motivation to celebrate imperfections and educate consumers about skin, rather than selling false dreams of ‘perfection’ and ‘quick fixes’.

Having originally planned to launch to market with face masks, Laura & Ronnie saw the urgent need for hand sanitiser with the rise of the Covid pandemic and immediately pivoted production selling and distributing sanitiser nation wide. This was the beginning of their journey - they’ve now developed numerous products and launched, in just one year, in to retailers such as Superdrug, Urban Outfitters and Misguided.

Laura & Ronnie talk us through the journey to starting Mallows Beauty and their whirlwind first year of business.

This weeks podcast guest is Hugo Scheckter, Founder & Managing Director at The Player Care Group.

The Player Care Group are the UK’s first consultancy group focused on Player Care, Team Operations and Player Wellbeing within sporting environments across the world. Hugo started his journey in sport in the US coaching football before seeing an opportunity in Team Operations and Player Care. He became Team Operations Manager at Indy Eleven in the USL, before being head-hunted by Southampton FC and becoming the clubs first Team Liaison Officer. Hugo then moved on to West Ham, before at the beginning of 2021 starting his own business offering these services as a consultancy to sporting organisations worldwide.

Hugo gives us a fascinating insight into the importance of Player Care in modern day football, working directly with Premier League managers and their teams to ensure everything that happens off the pitch runs smoothly.

After nearly 15 years as an executive leader in corporate social responsibility and social impact at Brighton & Hove Albion FC and Chelsea FC, Matt joined Sphero to launch the companies newest venture, Sphero Sports. Sphero Sports is built for Sports Foundations, Schools & CSR Driven Organisations to teach STEM education through sports that kids already know and love.

During Matt’s time at The Chelsea Foundation he lead the Education and Innovation Department, building an industry-leading education programme that spearheaded many groundbreaking initiatives in football, STEM Education and social impact. This success then went on to develop partnerships with the The 49ers Foundation, EVERFI, Autodesk, The Hidden Genius Project and The Smithsonian to create STEM education programmes for US and UK communities.
