  • Three Man Weave - Clifford Magic, The Cody Effect, Rory Beggan And The Evolution Of Goalkeepers
David Clifford is magic, Diarmuid Connolly is back, Patrick Horgan is also magic and the first weekend of the All-Ireland Gaelic football and hurling quarter-finals produced some remarkable results giving the lads plenty to talk about this week!
On Monday's Three Man Weave, the Balls.ie GAA podcast, the lads reflected on a huge two days of action and looked at the context and consequences of all games.
What makes Dublin and Tyrone that bit better? When did the goalkeeper evolution begin? Why did Mayo fall flat against Kerry? How do Kilkenny keep doing it? How's the top goalkeeper in the county? We answer these questions and more.
We also hear from Monaghan goalkeeper Rory Beggan and look at the incredible calibre of goalkeepers in the country right now. In hurling, the lads made a fatal error with Brian Cody last Friday. Their 2-27 to 3-18 victory over Cork puts them into the final four with the defending champions up next.
There's also praise for Laois and the best co-commentators in the GAA.

  • Three Man Weave - Laois's Shock, Cute Mayo, New Cynicism
It was an extraordinary weekend of GAA action with Laois landing a big shock, Mayo making the final eight and Tyrone's return. Excitement abounds.
On this week's Three Man Weave the lads chat about Eddie Brennan and the remarkable job he has done with the Laois hurlers. There were remarkable celebrations, superb showings and soldiers getting their well-deserved day in the sun.
Elsewhere, we look at what has gone wrong for Galway and what they need to do next. What is behind Mayo's resurgence? We also look at one hugely underappreciated aspect of this team.
Finally, there's Cavan reflection, Cork appreciation and a chat about the GAA tv schedule for the coming weeks.

  • Three Man Weave - Armagh Betrayal, Davy Skulduggery & Guess The Handicaps
It's the Friday edition of the Three Man Weave which means it's another ding dong edition of Guess The Handicaps. This week, Mick defends his title against Mark and the three lads get into detail on Cavan's chances of beating Tyrone and the Galway V Mayo clash in Limerick.
They also discuss the rights and wrongs of the anonymous letter from a former Armagh player calling for Kieran McGeeney's head and Maurice has a fascinating look a Wexford tactic for puckouts, though Mick has some questions about the ethics of it all.

2018 All-Star full-forward John Conlon joins the show this week to talk about Clare's disappointing 2019 season and what went wrong. He talks about Limerick's performance yesterday and just how they've improved this year. He also talks about the impact of his old manager Davy Fitzgerald at Wexford and gives us fascinating insight into the role of the sweeper in hurling.
Maurice, Mick and PJ also look back on a packed weekend of hurling and football. Did Kilkenny bottle it? Are Wexford good enough to get to the next level?
Maurice looks back on a thrilling season for Armagh and we discuss if it's worth Kieran McGeeney staying on to kick them on to the next level.
Is it time to stop giving out about referees? Is it the most tedious form of GAA analysis?
There's the 30 second whinges and lots more too.

  • Three Man Weave - Concussion in GAA & Guess The Handicaps
Two provincial finals, a Joe McDonagh Cup final and four blockbuster qualifiers, it's a huge weekend of GAA action and we've got all you need in this week's Guess the Handicaps show!
Maurice, Mick and Mark look ahead to four terrific Gaelic football ties on Saturday. Has James Horan made a bold or brass call in his team selection? Will Tyrone revert to type or try match Kildare in Newbridge? Are the uber-consistent Clare underrated for their clash with Westmeath?
We also discuss a huge hurling Sunday and analysis where Kilkenny can expose Wexford as well as the job John Kiely has done so far this year with Limerick. There's plenty of Joe McDonagh Cup action and criticism for the weird scheduling of the game.
Plus, there's a serious discussion about the problem of concussion in the GAA, an attempted title defence and the pressing concern about John Maughan's shorts.

  • Three Man Weave - Kerry's Pressing, Dublin Snoozefests, And Connacht Hurling Rising
6 Cups were handed out this weekend in the GAA. Some meant more than others. For Dublin, it was a 9th Leinster title in a row, with Meath putting a paltry four points past them, the lowest total in a Leinster final since 1985. For Sligo, it was a hurling title for the second year in a row. It's hard to know which win was greeted with more enthusiasm in Croke Park.
On this week's Three Man Weave, Maurice and Mick attempt to console Mark after Cavan's defeat to Donegal in Ulster, and ask what went wrong for a team that didn't seem to show their full potential until the middle of the second half.
The RTÉ report on Dublin's finances caused quite a stir in the podcast studio ahead of yesterday's Leinster final. The lads attempt to separate the achievements of Jim Gavin and his team with the obvious and legitimate conversation that needs to happen around the advantages of the county, both natural and manufactured.
They also discuss a surprisingly lively and close Munster final, while Maurice analyses an overlooked aspect of Kerry's tactics under Peter Keane.
Cian O'Sullivan's new tash, Tomás Ó Sé commentary, John Cena celebrations, and Stephen O'Brien's underratedness are also up for discussion on today's pod.

  • Three Man Weave - Guess The Handicaps, Homeless Antrim, Provincial Final Breakdown
Ahead of another packed weekend of GAA championship action, Maurice, Mark and Mick are back with another look ahead to the weekend's games in the form of guessing the bookies' handicaps.
With eight All-Ireland Football Qualifiers, three provincial football finals, and three hurling finals in Croke Park, there is plenty of drama as Mark took on the reigning champion Maurice.
The lads look in detail at the Munster and Ulster finals. Have Cork evolved their style and does it matter at all? Do Cavan have the right formula to break down Donegal?
We also look ahead to the Christy Ring, Lory Meagher, and Nicky Rackard finals in Croke Park on Saturday, and go through the eight Round 2 Qualifiers.
We also hear from Paddy McBride, the Antrim wing back, ahead of his team hosting Kildare on Saturday. The game will take place in Corrigan Park because Casement Park, the home of Antrim GAA remains in ruin. Maurice discusses the impact this has had on the GAA in Belfast, and on the impact it has had on the people of the city and the GAA's presence in Ireland second biggest city.

  • Three Man Weave - Desperate Galway, The GAA Warriors, Cute Cody
Huge disappointment for Galway, Clare, Mick and Maurice this week as the boys reflect on a bonkers weekend of action.
What is the issue with Galway and who is to blame? We start with a crazy Connacht final and a second-half collapse as the Tribesmen were felled by Roscommon.
Elsewhere, there was bucket loads of hurling action. The evergreen Conal Keaney performed when Dublin needed him most to help deliver one of their great days in Parnell Park.
There's also talk about the GAA's warriors, Brian Cody and Davy Fitzgerald's fascinating management tactics and a deep dive on appropriate footwear for inter-county players.

  • Three Man Weave - Lenient Suspensions, Hurling Dying, And Guess The Handicaps
Another Friday pod where the lads looks ahead to the weekend's games by guessing the handicaps and getting deep into the weeds. Today, Mick defends his title against Maurice.
The team also discuss our interview with Carlow hurler Paul Coady, which can be found in the Balls.ie GAA podcast feed, and talk passionately about why the GAA don't appear interested in growing hurling in 23 counties.
Tyrone's Tiernan McCann will receive a two-game suspension for his "fishhook" transgression against Donegal last Saturday, a punishment the lads are adamant in too lenient.
