One of the most precious gifts God has given us is His Word, the Bible. The Bible is wrapped in the glory and sacrifice of Jesus Christ – the Son of God. The Bible is delivered by the power and ministry of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is a treasured gift --- the gift that keeps on giving. It is relevant to every generation. Believers in 2017 need the truth and guidance which it supplies as much as any generation before us. It is timeless and changeless. Jesus said in Luke 21:33 – “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” Do you have a personal plan and desire to know what God says?
Over the last six months we have been studying the twelve Minor Prophets in our Wednesday morning and Wednesday evening Bible study. The Twelve Minor Prophets have been called by some the “Twelve Voices of Truth”. In the sermon this Sunday I plan to glean from these twelve prophets some of the reoccurring themes that are invaluable, and of utmost importance in ever age.
Hosea 14:1, 4 (NKJV) 1. O Israel, return to the Lord your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity;
4. “I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely, For My anger has turned away from him.”
Amos 8:11 11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the Lord.
Malachi 3:7a Yet from the days of your fathers You have gone away from My ordinances And have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” Says the Lord of hosts.
