“HOME, LOVE, and HEAVEN”
Our first date was December 12, 1975. I still surprise the “bride of my youth” (By the way that would be Lana) each year on this day. It is our “Valentine Day”. Back in 1976 after we had been dating for a few months, I went to Lana’s church one Sunday morning to hear her sing (Bethlehem Baptist Church near Camp Sumatanga). Of course I went there to worship the Lord, not to just see Lana. (Yeah right!) The solo she sang that morning was, “Wayfaring Stranger”. It is not in our United Methodist Hymnal. This past Saturday (2-4-2017) I helped with a funeral and one of the songs played during the service was “Wayfaring Stranger”. It brought back some good memories and an eternal hope. The song reminds us of heaven and going home.
Job 19:25-27 (NKJV) “For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; 26 And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God, 27 Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!
