In this Meeting, we discuss our favorite Horror Themed board games. On our lists are Betrayal at House on the Hill, Eldritch Horror, A Touch of Evil, Last Night on Earth: Growing Hunger, Fury of Dracula, Renfield, Student Bodies, and Ghost Stories. We give you reasons that you'll want to check these out and add them to your game collection. We also get 3 Hello My Name Is... submissions and we choose our winner of the drawing by Rollin Kunz.

Glenn's Review:

Keeping with our horror theme, Glenn reviews a board game called Mysterium. This game lets you experience Spiritualism in the 1920s. One player assumes the role of a spirit that inhabits a home in Scotland. The other players are mediums who must determine how the deceased met their end. Each round, the spirit player hands out cards to the mediums. The cards are then used to help figure out who the killer is. Those that guess correctly move on to the next round and guess the location and then the weapon. I equate it to Clue in reverse.

It's a game that plays up to 7 players and takes about 45 minutes.

In this meeting, we talk about some of the games that we are excited to see in 4th quarter 2015 and 2016. We aren't limiting it to and game type. Board, card, tabletop RPG, console, and computer games are all on the table. Our games were Fallout 4, Ghostbusters: The Boardgame, SAVE - The Eternal Society, Blood Rage, Arkham Investigator, and Mistfall. We discuss another Todd Roll related tale and give major kudos to the talented Mark Wooldrage, of Central Battery Musicworks, who composed the theme for Adventure Party.

Glenn introduces us to The Grizzled. A card game that puts you in the trenches of World War I. IT's a 2-5 player game that takes around 30 minutes to play. You need to use strategy and teamwork to survive the mission. Your team leader will instruct each team member on how many cards to draw. You'll use those cards and your special abilities to finish out the mission and survive the war.

Glenn reviews Sentinel Tactics: The Flame of Freedom from Greater Than Games. It's a beautifully designed miniatures game that lets you be the hero or villain you've always wanted to be. Using a hex map, you battle in the streets with 2-6 players in this team-based game. They've also released a number of expansions that really increase the replay-ability of this game. We've loved what they did with Sentinels of the Multiverse card game and this game does not disappoint.

In this meeting, we discuss movies that seemed like they came from gaming sessions. Regardless of the genre, there are some movies that look and feel like the came from a D&D, Cyberpunk 2020, Dark Conspiracy or Champions session. We pick our movies that give us that feel, why we think that, and possible systems those movies could have come from.

Glenn's Review:

Glenn reviewed Luchador! Mexican Wrestling dice game, more specifically the second edition that comes with the 3D dice ring. We both marveled at the game mechanics and the stories of each of the characters that you can play. You can hit, pin, and counter your opponents dice. You can even knock the dice out of the ring to eliminate some of there rolls against you. It's a 2-4 player game that has an average play time of 15 minutes.

Glenn reviewed New York 1901 from Blue Orange Games. This board game, for 2-4 players, takes you back to the hayday of early 20th Century New York. You need to build up this city to the magnificence we know that it is. Your objective is to purchase land and build the key skyscrapers of the day. A game takes about 45 minutes and well worth the time.
