But after an eventful day tracking down the secrets of Oscar's portrait and the Captain's Unction he feels weary and retires to his bed for rest and relaxation. 

Even in his fitful sleep Monkchin must solve a crime so convoluted that only dream logic will do the trick. 

With Stretch at his side, Monkchin embarks on a journey that mixes fact with fiction and causes time to seep in all directions...

Mr Stretch and Mr Monkchin, gentlemen investigators into the un-natural and the profane, are reunited with Mr Oscar Wilde who is concerned. Very concerned: 

His portrait appears to be haunted. Very haunted. 

He needs help and only Stretch & Monkchin can discover what and whom is making the portrait more popular than Mr Wilde himself - and then deal with the consequences. 

Monkchin may need to go for a little walk after this affair... 

And Wilde may need a lie down. 

Needless to say that Mr Stretch will probably hit something or someone...
