Welcome to episode #281 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional!

In this episode, we start off with news relating to GTA VI, and the shock that 1. It will be completely digital, so no physical copies will be printed, and 2. At a base price of $80, the game still has content that is locked and only accessed through purchase of the $100 version of the game. These two announcements have created lots of conversation, both good and bad, not just for Rockstar, but the future of gaming. Will we ever see COD raise its prices? And what really justifies a game to be $100? We give our thoughts on this news, as well as our reaction to Sony announcing they will stop making physical copies of games starting in 2028, making the official end of discs in gaming. Is this the correct move and path for Sony and other publishers to make, or is this going to lead to bigger issues that are already being brought up. Do we own these games, and what rights do we actually have as “renters” of these games? Finally, we close off with a discussion on the biggest Call of Duty tournament that has ever been hosted, being Major IV in Paris. We share our thoughts on the event, and what is to be expected going forward, after the bar has been raised significantly.
