In this episode, we cover some big news that came as a shock to some, and was expected by others. Pred was officially announced back onto the starting roster for OpTic, and Huke has been let go as a free agent. The debate lies in if this is the correct move for OpTic. After a lackluster Major 1 performance, they need to bounce back in this second split, and with Pred’s time off and potentially higher ceiling as a player, speculation has risen if he will be the piece that makes OpTic compete against FaZe and Thieves. With Huke being a free agent, questions have risen as to where he will go, and who’s spot he will be taking, as we discuss the lack of changes within the bottom teams despite poor Major 1 performances. Finally, we close on the PSN shutdown, and the bigger discussion of how this issue is one of the biggest cons to gaming on a console, and the reliance on online servers to play even single player games.

In this episode, we start off with some much needed football talk as the superbowl is having another repeat year, and then we shift the conversation to the CDL and how the field is looking going into major 1. We share our thoughts on who we think is going to make it to Sunday, and who is going to be making an early exit. We then break down the season 2 roadmap for Black Ops 6, and there are some big quality of life changes coming. Firstly with the addition of the cross-play feature for console players, and a new perk that could change the game. There is a big emphasis on multiplayer and zombies this season, and little to none on warzone. Was this intentional?

With COD in a tough state, is this where effort should be focused towards with the CDL? We believe this to be one of the worst times COD has ever gone through in its history, and we break down why this has continued to happen, what led to it happening, and what Activision can do about it. The more time that passes, the more people fall off of the game, and get less interested in the next title. Welcome to episode #203 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional!

In the first episode 2025, we start off with our recap of one of our biggest grind times during Black Ops 6, with a full week of double XP. We have put in plenty of hours, and with COD being in a tough state at the moment, we share our experience with the game, and compare it to those who have not been having the best time. Along with this, our discussion shifts towards skill and game knowledge as you age. Do players get better as they age, or worse? This discussion has carried into the CDL at times, and lends itself to the casual player base who may give up on a game as they get older and “worse”.

What level are you currently in BO6? Are you still grinding out the levels, or are you waiting until ranked play is fixed? What are your opinions on your skill diminishing as you get older? Welcome to episode #202 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional!

In our final episode 0f 2024, we share our current feelings with Black Ops 6, and recent experiences as we draw to the end of the year, and lots of complaints have been surfacing. With this news, we cover our experiences with the game in its current state, as well as some personal “gaming goals” that we have set for ourselves, as many struggle to balance other games than COD, and feel burnt out too early. Along with this, some recent competition has come up against Call of Duty, and with ranked play being in the state it is currently in, we discuss the future of the ranked play model, and what impact this will have on the competitive scene as a whole. Will people return, or will they move on to better competitive titles?

Welcome to episode #201 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional!

In this episode, we have week 2 of the CDL in the books, and we won’t see anymore matches until their return in 2025. So far, we have been able to see what each team is looking like, and generally what the strong and weak teams currently are. Thankfully for us, the Boston Breach are off to a near perfect start! We discuss their matches, and give our thoughts on what has led to this success and turnaround from last year’s woes. Along with this, we cover some of the other big news surrounding the other teams, mainly FaZe and OpTic. FaZe’s struggles continue, and OpTic has to adjust with a new member on the team, and for what seems to be the foreseeable future. Will these teams maintain that top 3 pedestal, or will some mid level teams rise up?
