Welcome to episode #274 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional!
In this episode, we start off talking about an inevitable fact of friends dropping off of gaming, and what may be contributing to this. As most of our friends have stopped playing, we turn to the games we had growing up, and how the quality of those titles, such as Call of Duty, has changed so much over the years that it has turned people away from gaming altogether. We share our thoughts on story games, and their ability to tell a story you actually cared about and wanted to keep playing. This shifts our talk to the seasons in BO7, and how the story continues to be told, despite not having that initial interest from a lack of quality. Along with this, when it comes to quality and effort in COD, most turn to the maps being a main point of focus. We give our thoughts on how map design and quality has been trending over the years, as well as sharing the fact that despite good maps in the past, there are very few that live on over the years. Finally, we close with some CDL updates, and are looking forward to an exciting major 3 tournament.
Do you share the experience of having a shrinking list of friends still playing regularly? What’s the longest you’ve gone without gaming? Do you agree with our takes on storylines in gaming? Does COD need a full reset when it comes to their campaigns? Finally, do you remember a lot of maps from old COD titles, or is your memory as bad as ours? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! Hope you all enjoy the episode and we'll see you next week.
