In the first episode 2025, we start off with our recap of one of our biggest grind times during Black Ops 6, with a full week of double XP. We have put in plenty of hours, and with COD being in a tough state at the moment, we share our experience with the game, and compare it to those who have not been having the best time. Along with this, our discussion shifts towards skill and game knowledge as you age. Do players get better as they age, or worse? This discussion has carried into the CDL at times, and lends itself to the casual player base who may give up on a game as they get older and “worse”.

Welcome to episode #202 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional!

In our final episode 0f 2024, we share our current feelings with Black Ops 6, and recent experiences as we draw to the end of the year, and lots of complaints have been surfacing. With this news, we cover our experiences with the game in its current state, as well as some personal “gaming goals” that we have set for ourselves, as many struggle to balance other games than COD, and feel burnt out too early. Along with this, some recent competition has come up against Call of Duty, and with ranked play being in the state it is currently in, we discuss the future of the ranked play model, and what impact this will have on the competitive scene as a whole. Will people return, or will they move on to better competitive titles?

Welcome to episode #201 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional!

In this episode, we have week 2 of the CDL in the books, and we won’t see anymore matches until their return in 2025. So far, we have been able to see what each team is looking like, and generally what the strong and weak teams currently are. Thankfully for us, the Boston Breach are off to a near perfect start! We discuss their matches, and give our thoughts on what has led to this success and turnaround from last year’s woes. Along with this, we cover some of the other big news surrounding the other teams, mainly FaZe and OpTic. FaZe’s struggles continue, and OpTic has to adjust with a new member on the team, and for what seems to be the foreseeable future. Will these teams maintain that top 3 pedestal, or will some mid level teams rise up?

Our main topic today is surrounding the topic of if COD needs to evolve, as some are saying that Black Ops 6 is good, but a “step in the wrong direction”. In this episode, we cover our initial thoughts on ranked play in Black Ops 6, as it has been released earlier than it ever has in previous titles, and we have lots to say. Overall, the experience for us has been fantastic. We share our opinions on the state of ranked from our perspective, but also discuss the biggest problem plaguing ranked play at the moment: hackers. This has been an ongoing issue over the years, and as of now, it is not improving. Many believe this will be the make or break for ranked, and we give our thoughts on the matter, and discuss what Treyarch and Activision need to do to have ranked be the biggest success it possibly can be.

Welcome to episode #196 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional!

In this episode, we give our comprehensive review on the Black Ops 6 campaign. We finished it, and now we’ve got lots to unpack regarding story, characters, and mission types. We have some new ideas that have come to this game, as well as some returning ideas from last year’s CODs, however nearly all of these ideas have improved. This is a big step up from what we have had in the previous years, and we couldn’t be more excited to share all the pros with this campaign, and also offer our opinion on some of the “risks” that they took with this game. We also discuss the ending, and the potential set up for a sequel.

We have been on the grind during the weekend, and give our take on how we feel Nuketown fits into this title, and if it lives up to the hype or not. In this episode, we give our thoughts on the return to round based zombies in Black Ops 6. We have two new maps to unpack and share what our first impressions are of having played these maps after a long time away from classic zombies. With this return, there are some familiar concepts that have made a return, as well as some new improvements that have made it that much better. We give our thoughts on these changes, and if we feel they should be staples to COD going forward, and some things that many zombie players are yearning for to return.
