Nice to catch up with my friend and organized crime expert David Breakspear from Nationalcrimesyndicate.com. While focusing on the Apalachin Meeting, we also touched on a few other things. This casual episode was more of a general discussion between two friends having some solid mob conversastion.

A Brotherhood Betrayed: The Man Behind the Rise and Fall of Murder Inc. by Michael Cannell tells the story of the mob's enforcement wing and its founder, notorious gangster Abe Reles.  

Mushmouth Johnson was a Chicago policy banker and gambling house entrepreneur during the late 1800s and early 1900s. He operated in the heart of "Whiskey Row" and the Levee red-light district. His policy racket made him a fortune, earning the title of "Negro Gambling King of Chicago." Later in his career, Johnson opened the exclusively white Frontenac Club on the second floor of 239 22nd Street (Now 41 W 22nd) with other gambling kingpins Bill Lewis and Tom McGinnis. The building itself was established as a gambling joint by "Big Jim" Colosimo in 1904.

DJ Vodicka tells his story about his time as a prison guard at Salinas Valley State Prison in California, and the Green Wall gang, a prison guard gang that abused inmates and threw up it's own gang signs. 

Talking a little bit about the gangsters that were linked to the murder of William A. Brady. Willie Moretti was a well known powerful gangster, but when I saw the names "Chicago Fat" and "Kid Steech" they immediately caught my eye. Documents I found pertaining to this story will be on a connected YouTube video!

Anthony "Chicago Fat" Sabio's life as a gangster is legendary in it's own right, although it is virtually unknown. Not only was he a member of the Luciano crime family, but the New Jersey gangster was linked to some of gangland's heavyweights.

"Red" was at one time "the most dangerous man in the country." He took part in many shootouts against the legendary Bumpy Johnson in Harlem.
