Yesterday we packed our bellies, today we pack shopping bags! On today's Garden Bite I share some of my favorite tools! I have 3 new ones this year that I'm super excited about. Take a listen and check out my website for pictures and more information.
Yesterday's episode on new vegetables whetted my appetite for today's feasting! I share some ideas on the herbs eaten today that you can plant in your garden, rummaging your yard for indoor decor and on my website a wonderful quote from a German philosopher on thankfulness. Wishing you and yours a happy one!

Most often called Spruce tips, what are they? Where are they harvested? Is it a renewable source? How come they don't look so great this year? That's all on today's Garden Bite.
When planting our edible gardens, most of us think of them as annuals. Here's a look at 3 perennial edibles and 1 herb hardy to zone 4 climates. One really takes commitment (it's also one I'm not fond of but many others are), two do better with a little winter cover. Check them out on today's Garden Bite.
We're gathering again! Party time means we also want to bring a little something for the person hosting the party. Infused sugars are easy and fun too. On today's Garden Bite I share information on how to make them, suggestions for recipes and a couple of videos on my website too!
I hate to disappoint you but your Christmas cactus is not an overachiever. Every year, without fail, these flowering cactus are misidentified, even by nurseries! Maybe because a "Christmas" cactus sells better??? I don't know. But I do know the difference between a Thanksgiving cactus, a Christmas cactus and even an Easter cactus! I share them all on today's Garden Bite.
University Ag departments across the country trial plants in their zones and today I share annual flowers from the University of MN as cold climate gardeners LOVE our annuals! Check them out the ones I mention on today's Garden Bite along with a couple only on my website!
All America Selections is the standard for new plant introductions. They also have a Design Challenge for their test sites. I share a few winners for 2022 and a lovely perennial winner for 2023 on today's Garden Bite. Check out the links to this year challenge of "Games in the Garden".
