I call up my friend Sam and we discuss eye-popping statistical outlier seasons from the NFL. Steve Slayton is sampled, but you get heaping servings of Braylon Edwards and Peyton Hillis. Plus, lots of Saints talk and even some Andrei Kirilenko love cause you know he's one of my guys. This is a feast of a pod that stretches out to nearly two hours. It's like watching a movie! (Except, it's not!). Oh, and we talk (perhaps) excessively about recording artist Rockwell. What's yer favorite Rockwell track?
Ben tries not to hate on Kobe, but he's a Suns fan and remembers the playoff battles in which Kobe was public enemy number one. Kobe's volume shooting percentages are examined and criticized, but Ben comes to the conclusion that Kobe may have had better averages than Michael Jordan if he'd been "the guy" for his whole career like His Airness. This is a tangent-filled stats fest for anybody on the fence about Kobe, the haters and maybe openminded Mamba superfans!
The Tom Brady + Bill Belichick New England Patriots have had a helluva run and it ain't over yet! During the dynasty, enough gaudy stats have been accumulated to make Roger Goodell constipated for an entire year! My friend and Patriots mega-fan Chris Kemp gets on the horn to pay homage to his idols. Don't forget to stick around for Kemp's immediate postgame reaction following the Pats last minute instant classic win vs. The Steelers on 12/17/17!
I call up my friend Sam and we settle in for a deep statistic vision quest. Samuel quizzes me about which running back caught the most balls in NFL history (I was stumped!). Also, Sammy throws a spotlight on Rudi Johnson's (of Bungles fame) ugly recieving season. Plus, workhouses Larry Johnson, Marshall Faulk and Matt Forte are discussed at length. In addition, Reggie Bush and Alvin Kamara's receiving prowess is touched on in this jam-packed ep! Hope yer hungry!
Kristaps Porzinigis is the Unicorn, but what is Devon Booker? Do you prefer a Center or Shooting Guard as your young franchise cornerstone and building block? We trademarked a new phrase: "Embrace Debate." We do just that in this podcast. Did I say we invented the phrase, too? Cause we did. Also, more Jordan Bell love. Ben is obsessed!!!
First ever episode of the Gaudy Stats Podcast! I talk Ben Roethlisberger's 506 passing yards and other big NFL performances. Plus we get into NBA numbers, Hakeem Olajuwon and some sweet 5x5 stat lines from years past, including those posted by Dr. J and Draymond Green and Hakeem the Dream. Plus more random ramblings of a stats head!
