Why we need Him as Redeemer.

What role does Christ have in heaven and earth? Christ is our Redeemer, but also He brings His role as our Prophet, our Priest, and our King. What does Christ do in the role of our Prophet? Christ offers salvation to those who will hear it. As God's will is revealed by His Word and His Spirit.

Who is the Redeemer for sinful mankind? He's the eternal Lord Jesus, God's only Son; with two natures, a God-man, one person, just one. How did Christ, being God, take the form of a man? By the Spirit and a virgin, Mary, his mother, Christ was born soul and body, without sin like no other.

Did God leave us doomed for utter damnation? By His gracious election from the dawn of creation, God sent a Redeemer to bring man salvation.

If we stay in our sin, what happens to us? We are under God's wrath. We are cursed and not well, with no communion, in misery, then forever in hell.

How bad is our heart because of our sin? Our heart is our nature. It's rebellious within, and our acts become selfish. That's original sin.
