This weekend in Sydney we entered another period of lockdown due to a resurgence of COVID 19. This lockdown is the first city-wide lockdown since March 2020 and I think it's fair to say that we're all a bit rattled. This sermon was pre-recorded before the lockdown was announced and doesn't directly address this situation, but I hope that wherever you are, this message will speak to you and your situation.
In NSW it also happens to be the school holidays and we have returned to a series that we started in the last term break entitled "On This Rock" in which the sermon is a reflection on a particularly foundational text for the preacher. This week is one of mine: the call of Jeremiah.
When God invites us to participate with him in his grand plan to renew and restore all things we can, like Jeremiah, all too easily identify reasons we are not suitable for the task. However, at the end of the day, we are called - not to be perfectly suitable, but to be faithful. I hope and pray that this week you will be faithful to the call of God and look to his provision to enable you in the task at hand.
Due to the current Public Health Order our facilities are closed to the public until at least Friday July 9. This means that if you'd like to join us for worship this week you'll need to do so online.
Is there someone you know who really needs to hear this message? Why not share it with them and see what God does through it.
If you'd like to join us online, we meet at gbconline.org.au at 9:30am AEST. We'd love for you to join us. Also, be sure to follow us on Facebook or Instagram to keep up with all we are doing.
