This Sunday we are going to take a theological detour in the book of Exodus to explore the Lord’s hardening of Pharaoh’s heart. This action of God seems to tilt the playing field unfairly against Pharaoh. Is there a way to understand this that preserves God’s integrity and Pharaoh’s freedom? Spoiler alert: I think there is!

We see this in Jesus’ deliberate decision to set his face towards his own death which was his hour of glorification at the same time. As we prepare our hearts for Easter Roxane Lawler leads us in a reflection on God’s capacity to bring life and our responsibility to trust as Jesus did.

The cross invites us to continual reflection on God’s salvation in Christ. As we continue to prepare our hearts for Easter, Matt Willis encourages us to humbly return again to the meaning of the cross as he explores Jesus’ interactions with Nicodemus in John 3 and the meaning of Jesus being lifted up like the snake in the wilderness (Numbers 21:4-9).

As we prepare for Easter we turn to the Gospel of John to consider again the significance of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. In this message we explore the title “Lamb of God” and what it tells us about Jesus and what it invites us to do in response.
