    We talk with actor Mark Rolston! Chances are you’ve probably seen or heard him in the past 40 years as he’s popped up in some of your favourite movies and t.v. shows. From Aliens to Shawshank Redemption to Star Trek, he gets around. He’s also had the distinction of playing both Lex Luthor and Norman Osborn in voice over roles! Mark Rolston has created such iconic roles as Pvt. Drake in Aliens, Bogs Diamond in The Shawshank Redemption, the original Alistar on Supernatural, and recently as Clive Davis in Whitney, and as Admiral Ernest King in Midway. You also know him as Walter Pierce on Star Trek: The Next Generation. He later appeared as Kuroda and Magh in Star Trek: Enterprise. Marks’ work in motion capture video games includes Norman Osborn in Spider-Man and will be starring in a follow-up game later this year. Mark also has numerous credits in the Voice Over arena, as Lex Luthor on Young Justice, and Commander Kolivan on Voltron.     Our review of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 7 Episode 1 starring Clark Gregg, Chloe Bennet and Ming-Na Wen. Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are thrust backward in time and stranded in 1931 New York City. With the all-new Zephyr set to time-jump at any moment, the team must hurry to find out exactly what happened. If they fail, it would mean disaster for the past, present and future of the world.



    We also talk with comic artist Adam Gorham. Adam’s been a long time friend of the show and has even won an award for it. Adam will be on to talk about his current cover work and his upcoming TMNT series that he is working on. Plus we get to have a good laugh at his hair and how bad his memory is.

    We talk with actor Meaghan Rath! Meaghan was a regular guest on Geek Hard between 2011 and 2016! Earlier this year, we announced that Meaghan was the winner of our “Guest of Decade” honour on the Froggy Awards! She joins us to accept the award. She’ll also tell us all about her adventures on Hawaii Five-0 and more! A dynamic and versatile performer, Meaghan Rath is an award-nominated actress and producer best known for her role as Sally Malik in the adaptation of the popular U.K. television series Being Human. Rath starred in the comedy Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life and has appeared in recurring roles on New Girl, Secrets & Lies, and the crime drama Banshee. Rath produced and starred in the indie feature film Three Night Stand. The film is available on video on demand. She also played Tani Rey for three seasons on Hawaii Five-0.



    Our review of Snowpiercer starring Daveed Diggs, Jennifer Connelly and Mickey Sumner. Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1001 cars, that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation.



    We also talk with actor Phillip Lewitski. Phillip is one of the stars of Utopia Falls, which is available for streaming on Hulu and CBC Gem. He’ll be on to chat about his work on the series and more! Born in Canada, Phillip Lewitski comes from a French, Ukrainian, and Mohawk ancestry. His heritage is a strong part of his identity and he strives to learn and explore his cultural roots. He grew up playing the piano, violin, and drums, with drumming being a way to connect with his Mohawk culture. He is a huge advocate for mental health and volunteers his time working with youth struggling from abusive homes, domestic violence, and drugs. At age 19 he published a book, Inside My Head, documenting his experiences growing up with hope to impact other teens struggling with life’s ups and downs.

    We talk with actor Paul Amos. Paul is best known for his work on Lost Girl and the Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate video game. He’ll be on to talk about the upcoming Homecon: Second Edition. It’s a virtual convention that takes place online, offering panels on Twitch and one-on-one zoom chats with some of your favourite actors! The Second Edition of Homecon happened May 16th and 17th. Paul Amos is an actor from Wales, UK. On arriving in Canada Paul spent a couple of years with the Stratford Festival Of Canada. Since then he has developed an impressive resume of TV credits. He’s worked on several projects including Combat Hospital, Warehouse 13, Degrassi goes to Hollywood, Mudpit, She’s the Mayor, Casualty, and the animated web series adaptation of Captain Canuck. Paul is best known for his recurring characters Dr.Roberts in Murdoch Mysteries and Vex in the Showcase/Syfy hit Lost Girl. Also, released in October 2015 Paul plays the lead role of Jacob Frye in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate.     Our review of Capone starring Tom Hardy, Linda Cardellini and Matt Dillon. Once a ruthless businessman and bootlegger who ruled Chicago with an iron fist, Alfonse Capone was the most infamous and feared gangster of American lore. At the age of 47, following nearly a decade of imprisonment, dementia rots Alfonse’s mind and his past becomes present. Harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life. As he spends his final year surrounded by family with the FBI lying in wait, this ailing patriarch struggles to place the memory of the location of millions of dollars he hid away on his property.



    We also talk with actor Natalie Sharp. Natalie recently appeared in two episodes of The Flash as Sunshine, a brand new character created for the television series. Natalie Sharp is a Canadian actress, singer and songwriter from Vancouver BC. TV credits include Loudermilk, You Me Her, Motive and Supernatural. Other screen credits include several collaborations with her brother, director Alexander Sharp; playing lead and principal roles in his films, including Impasto, which was nominated at the Playhouse West Film Festival in Los Angeles. Online, Natalie co-wrote and stars as “Stretch”, alongside Michelle Creber’s “Speedy” in their YouTube variety series, Speedy & Stretch. She also appears in several music videos including Note to God and Spies in the Night.

    We talk with comic creator Jimmy Palmiotti who returns to the show to talk about his latest Kickstarter campaign for the new comic, Pop Kill. Co-created by Dave Johnson, Pop Kill is an adults-only comic book. Former Siamese Twins own the top competing cola companies and are in an all-out war for industry dominance. Dina Deluxe, a scientist working for Popso Cola, has just invented a cola that stays carbonated longer! The head of Fizz One Cola activates Jon Pyle, an oversexed mercenary, to take care of her. His orders are to get to switch sides or get rid of her. Things get way complicated from there. The Kickstarter is for Issue #1 of Pop Kill and has a bunch of great incentives. We’ll find out more this Friday!     We talk with actor Rachel Skarsten! Rachel plays Alice on Batwoman but is also recognized for playing Elizabeth I of England on Reign and Tamsin on Lost Girl. She’ll be on to talk about Homecon: 2nd Edition. Homecon is a convention you can attend from the comforts of your own home! The first Homecon was a major success and they’re doing another one on May 16th and 17th. Rachel talks about this and more. Rachel Skarsten danced for the Royal Academy of Dance for 12 years, earning her Elementary Level with distinction in 1999. At 16, she won the role of superhero Black Canary in the WB series Birds of Prey. She moved back to Los Angeles in 2008 and returned to acting with arcs on Flashpoint, The Listener and The LA Complex. Rachel played Tamsin in the supernatural crime drama series Lost Girl, Andrea in Fifty Shades of Grey, and Queen Elizabeth I in the CW series Reign. Rachel plays Alice on Batwoman on the CW.



    Our review of Arkansas starring Liam Hemsworth, Clarke Duke and Vince Vaughn. Kyle (Liam Hemsworth) and Swin (Clark Duke) live by the orders of an Arkansas-based drug kingpin named Frog, whom they’ve never met. Posing as junior park rangers by day, they operate as low-level drug couriers by night under the watchful eye of Frog’s proxies. Their world is then upended after one too many inept decisions, and Kyle, Swin, and Johnna find themselves directly in Frog’s crosshairs, who mistakenly sees them as a threat to his empire.



    We also talk with actor, writer and producer Amanda Joy. Amanda is one of the creators and stars of the comedy series Second Jen. The series about two second-generation millennials and inseparable best friends who move in together to prove to their immigrant families, and themselves, that they can make it on their own. We chatted with Amanda about the series back during the summer of 2018. Amanda returns to tell us about the upcoming third season. She’ll also be on to talk about how she’s spending her quarantine. Amanda Joy is a second-generation Filipino-Chinese-Canadian. She is an actor, screenwriter, and filmmaker based in Toronto. Past roles include leads in the films Virtual Hitman (Official Selection Festival de Cannes 2016), Devil’s Mile, and Disconnection, as well as recurring roles on Degrassi, and Anxietyville. For her improvised performance in the short comedy The Talk, she took home gold at ACTRA’s 24-hour Film Competition. Joy is an alumna of the WGC’s Diverse Screenwriters’ Program. She is a member of The Beaverton’s online writing staff. Other writing credits include The Magpie Bridge, Hunter’s Chance, Quota, and Dig to China (Official Selection Toronto International Short Film Festival 2015). She has worked short-lived stints as a diamond runner and portable hot-chocolate dispenser (true story). Joy is a Ryerson Dean’s Prize Winner, Merit Scholar, and dual Ontario Arts Certificate holder for music, and filmmaking.

    We talk with actor Tim Rozon. Tim is best known for his portrayal of Doc Holliday on Wynonna Earp. Right now, you can catch him as Isaac on the SYFY/CityTV show Vagrant Queen. He talks about Vagrant Queen and more. Tim Rozon’s first major role was playing Tommy Quincy for four seasons on the teen drama series Instant Star for TeenNick and CTV. He was then cast as the series lead Alex Caine, playing a gang infiltrator, in Befriend and Betray. Recent series leads include two seasons playing Mutt Schitt on the CBC/Netflix comedy Schitt’s Creek; and playing Doc Holliday for three seasons on Wynonna Earp. Last year Tim played the series regular role of RCMP Constable Carson Myers, stand up lawman and love interest, on the CBC series Diggstown opposite Natasha Henstridge and Vinessa Antoine. This year, Tim plays Isaac, lawyer turned space rogue, in Vagrant Queen. 



    Our review of Extraction starring Chris Hemsworth, Rudhraksh Jaiswal and Shivam Vichare. A black-market mercenary who has nothing to lose is hired to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord. But in the murky underworld of weapons dealers and drug traffickers, an already deadly mission approaches the impossible.



    We also talk with comic artist Rags Morales. Rags has worked in comics for many years at various companies, including DC and Valiant. He illustrated Identity Crisis, James Robinson and Geoff John’s Hawkman run, the New 52 relaunch of Action Comics, and others. Recently, he did a story a two-issue story in Bloodshot Rising Spirit. He talks about his work in the comics industry and more! A veteran of the comic industry, Rags began his career with DC Comics in 1989 with the TSR licensed book Forgotten Realms. His first superhero series was “Black Condor.” He has since worked on countless titles for DC, most notably “Identity Crisis”. Other notable projects include long runs on “JSA,” “Hawkman,” not to forget “Batman/Superman,” “Nightwing,” The New 52 and “First Wave.” Rags has also worked with Valiant, Dark Horse, and Marvel Comics. Rags is also a former teacher at the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Art. He lives in eastern Pennsylvania.     We talk with actor Adriyan Rae! Adriyan is the star of Vagrant Queen currently airing on SYFY and CityTV. She’ll be on to talk to us about the new series and more! Triple-threat: singer, actress and model, Adriyan Rae is making her mark as one to watch, with roles in some of the most buzzed-about projects in television and film. First, Adriyan joined the Hulu and AwesomenessTV horror series, Light as a Feather for their sophomore season in 2019. She also stars as Elida, in SYFY’s live-action Vault Comics adaptation, Vagrant Queen. The series is produced by Blue Ice Pictures and will boast an all-female team of writers and directors. The 2017 Sundance Film Festival marked Rae’s debut film, Burning Sands in which she appeared alongside Trevor Jackson. In 2018 she had guest star arcs on Atlanta, Star, and the IFC comedy, Brockmire.



    Our review of The Gentlemen starring Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam and Michelle Dockery. Mickey Pearson is an American expatriate who became rich by building a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he’s looking to cash out of the business, it soon triggers an array of plots and schemes — including bribery and blackmail — from shady characters who want to steal his domain. Benito from Durham Escape Rooms joins us by phone to help us review the film.



    We also talk with artist Megan Huang. Her graphic novel, JIA and the NIAN MONSTER, is now available. Megan talks about the book and more! Megan has worked on multiple Princeless projects in 2018, one being a HalloweenFest Special and the other an NYCC exclusive. She has worked on Double Jumpers as a colorist, for Action Lab. She has also done a few character concepts for ChapterHouse. Her graphic novel JIA AND THE NIAN MONSTER, published by Dark Horse Comics, was released in March 2020.     We talk with actor Ian Verdun. Ian talks about Siren which returned for a 3rd Season on Freeform last week. Ian Verdun is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts and the British American Drama Academy. He has written and produced several plays himself and appeared on shows such as Last Resort, Hawthorne, Lucifer, and Hawaii Five-O. Before landing Siren, Ian’s first acting job was a passion project titled Life’s A Drag which he completed with money earned from sweeping and bussing in New York restaurants. Most recently he wrapped production on a feature film Death of a Telemarketer which followed a smooth-talking telemarketer who finds himself at the mercy of the man he tried to swindle.



    Our review of Coffe & Kareem starring Ed Helms, Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Little Gardenhigh. Twelve-year-old Kareem Manning hires a criminal to scare his mom’s new boyfriend – police officer James Coffee – but it backfires, forcing Coffee and Kareem to team up in order to save themselves from Detroit’s most ruthless drug kingpin.



    We also talk with actor Tina Jung. Tina is the start of Queen of the Morning Calm, an independent film that’s coming soon. She also appears in the upcoming 3rd season of Second Jen. Tina will be on to talk about both of these projects and more! Tina Jung is an award-winning Korean-Canadian actor, writer, and producer born in South Korea to parents who were actors themselves. She can be seen starring as Debra in the new captivating feature film QUEEN OF THE MORNING CALM which follows her character, a 29-year-old immigrant sex worker and her self-aware 10-year-old daughter Mona, as they embark on a journey of emancipation. Tina will also be seen recurring in the upcoming 3rd season of SECOND JEN as Vicky, a social media influencer with over 10 million followers and the successful cousin of Jen.

Ryan Belleville is a favourite at the Just for Laughs Festival as well as CBC’s Halifax Comedy Festival, The Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Comedy Now, and CBC’s The Debaters. As an actor, Belleville has starred in CTV’s Satisfaction, & FOX’s sitcom Life on a Stick, as well as Almost Heroes, now available on Hulu. He has also starred in the feature films National Lampoons Going the Distance, Disney’s Stuck in the Suburbs, Step Dogs and the award-winning family film Finn on the Fly. Former child queen Elida has been on the run since her mother was shot and killed by Commander Lazaro, the man responsible for bringing down their empire. A highly skilled fighter, Elida has been living in hiding and making ends meet as a scavenger while the unhinged Lazaro obsesses over tracking her down. When Elida’s old frenemy, Isaac, shows up with news that her mother is still alive, it takes the help of the optimistic mechanic Amae, to escape Lazaro’s army and begin the rescue mission across a dangerous galaxy.



    We also talk with director Francis Luta. Francis joins to talk about his latest documentary, Alone Across the Arctic. It’s the story of modern-day explorer Adam Shoalts who sets a record-breaking solo expedition in crossing the Canadian Arctic on foot and by canoe that spans four long and lonely perilous months. Francis Luta is a Canadian filmmaker, born in the Philippines, with works ranging from fiction and non-fiction. In 2012, he shifted his focus on videography. He directed the short film SEEING in 2014, produced by Oscar-winning cinema lens company Cooke Optics. In 2015 he directed a short documentary The Hammer Band: Music Child that won Best Music Video at the Toronto Short Film Festival. In 2016 he directed a short biography film on Adam Shoalts EXPLORER which premiered at the Victoria Film Festival. The same year his social commentary documentary PROJECT GELB premiered at the Vancouver Queer Film Festival. His most recent projects include his feature-length documentary ALONE ACROSS THE ARCTIC.

    We talk with writer, editor and publisher Renee Witterstaetter. Renee will be on to talk about her career in the comics industry and more. Renee Witterstaetter was editor on Thanos Quest, Guardians of the Galaxy, Hercules, and many other comics. As a film professional, she worked on Red Dragon and Rush Hour 2. Behind the scenes, she racked up credits on dozens of music videos and commercials. Her books as a writer include: Jackie Chan: Dying for Action, Nick Cardy: The Artist at War, Excess: The Art of Michael Golden, Art of the Barbarian, The Art of Mark Texeira, and her children’s book Kerry and the Scary Things. She is a producer of DVD’s on various comic book creators through her partnership with Amdale Media. She’s also spearheaded mounting art shows and retrospectives in the United States, Spain, China, Russia and other venues worldwide. 



    Our review of High Fidelity starring Zoë Kravitz, Jake Lacy and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. Rob, a record-store owner in the rapidly gentrified Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, revisits past relationships through music and pop culture while trying to get over her one true love.



    We also talk with actor Helena Marie. Helena will be on to talk about My Perfect Landing, a new series currently airing on Family Channel. Helena Marie is an award-winning actor born in Montreal, Quebec and is currently based in Toronto, Canada. A creator as well, Helena co-wrote, produced and starred in the award-winning short film CRAZY LOVE. She portrayed spousal-abuse victim Sam, a role which garnered her much attention and an award for Best Performance at the Vancouver Island Short Film Festival. Helena has amassed a significant body of work in several film and television productions including SUITS, A WIFE’S SUSPICION, and SUPERNATURAL. Helena stars in the new series MY PERFECT LANDING about a family of gymnasts who struggle with a life-changing move. Helena plays Whitney Cortez, a former gymnast who loses her job and decides to move her two kids from Miami to Toronto to start a gymnastics club with her father.
