We talk with actor and writer Shelley Pack. She talks about her film, Chasing Molly. Released earlier this year, the film follows Molly, a paranormal con artist who cleans people of their valuables instead of their demons who accidentally rips off a Drug Kingpin. She now has to save her kidnapped partner and herself while battling through the under belly of Los Angeles. Shelly chats about the making of this film and more! (*Note director Josh Sutherland was scheduled to be part of the interview but due to a technical issue he was unable to join)

Our review of Good Boys starring Jacob Tremblay, Keith L. Williams and Brady Noon. Invited to his first kissing party, 12-year-old Max asks his best friends Lucas and Thor for some much-needed help on how to pucker up. When they hit a dead end, Max decides to use his father’s drone to spy on the teenage girls next door. When the boys lose the drone, they skip school and hatch a plan to retrieve it before Max’s dad can figure out what happened.

We also talk with comics legend Todd McFarlane! Todd’s coming to Toronto for Fan Expo Canada‘s 25th Anniversary Show to promote issues 300 and 301 of Spawn! We talk about Spawn, his career and toys! Todd McFarlane broke into comics in March 1984 at Marvel. With his unique style and commitment to quality, Todd worked his way to the top of Marvel’s artist roster. His work on Amazing Spider-Man took that title to #1 and launched Todd’s career into superstardom. Marvel eventually gave McFarlane his own title. Spider-Man #1 shipped to stores September 1990 and became the best-selling comic of all time, selling more than 2.5 million copies. In 1992, Todd left Marvel to form Image Comics with Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, Jim Valentino, Erik Larsen, Marc Silvestri and Whilce Portacio. There he released Spawn and has had a broad range of experience in entertainment, sports and publishing. For more on Todd McFarlane, check out his website.

We talk with actor Alanna Bale. Alanna plays big bad The Lady in the final season of Killjoys. She talks to us about that and more! Alanna Bale was born in Ottawa and, as the daughter of a diplomat, had the opportunity of living in different countries around the world. She was 13-years-old when she landed her first professional acting job in Poland after responding to an audition notice for the film Thr3e that was posted at the American school she was attending. When she returned to Ottawa, Bale landed a lead role in the series Prime Radicals, playing the role of Alanna in 52 episodes between 2011 and 2014. She plays Kelly Cardinal, the daughter of series lead, Billy Campbell on the hit CTV series Cardinal. She can also be seen as The Lady in the final season of Killjoys, currently airing on SPACE and SYFY.

Our review of Netflix’s GLOW Season 3 starring Alison Brie, Marc Maron and Betty Gilpin. Season 3 follows the ladies of GLOW as they take the Vegas strip by storm. Now headliners at the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino, the women quickly realize Sin City is much more grind than glitter. Ever the team cheerleader, Ruth’s passion for the show begins to take a backseat to her growingly complicated personal life. Debbie is making headway as a producer, but continues to be consumed with guilt over the distance between her and her son. As their residency wears on, the lines blur between performance and reality, and the cast find themselves struggling with their own identities both in and outside of the ring.

We also talk with convention organizer James Armstrong about celebrating the 25th anniversary of Fan Expo Canada! He talks about the four-day show running from August 22nd to 25th. Including the lineup of celebs and comic creators as well as the many festivities leading up to the event.

    Show Notes:

We were scheduled to speak with actor Adam Lindo who is in Orange is The New Black Season 7. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he wasn’t able to call in the studio Friday night.

Our review of Hobbs & Shaw starring Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Idris Elba. Ever since hulking lawman Hobbs (Johnson), a loyal agent of America’s Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw (Statham), a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015’s Furious 7, the duo have swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down. But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton (Idris Elba) gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever — and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent (The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby), who just happens to be Shaw’s sister — these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves.

We also talk with actor Jesse Kove to promote his upcoming film D-Day. This year marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day, the day when Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, to fight the Nazis in World War II. Jesse will be on to talk about what it was like working with co-stars Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture and more! Born in Los Angeles California, Jesse Kove was raised in a Film, Television and Theatrical family. Jesse follows in his father’s (Martin Kove) footsteps proudly. In 2016, Jesse co-starred alongside Joseph Fiennes in the highly anticipated World War II drama “On Wings of Eagles” (The unofficial sequel to “Chariots of Fire” ). Jesse also co-produced and co-starred in the acclaimed teen crime drama “As Night Comes”. On television, he starred in Alloy Entertainment’s episodic show “First Day”, and went on to star in the SyFy channels “Axe Giant”, and co-starred in the first-ever live-streamed episodic “Steve The Intern”.

Returning for the final battle are our lead trio of bounty hunters with Hannah John-Kamen joined by her co-stars including Canadian Screen Award nominee for Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series Aaron Ashmore (CARDINAL) as John Jaqobis, and Luke MacFarlane (THE NIGHT SHIFT) as D’avin Jaqobis.
