We talk the news of the week. Disney announces the name of their new streaming service. Harvard researchers have a theory that says Oumuamua asteroid is actually a spacecraft. European Space Agency releases research that shows a lost continent under Antarctica that could help better explain all tectonic plate shifts.
Our review of The Grinch starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Cameron Seely, Rashida Jones. The Grinch and his loyal dog, Max, live a solitary existence inside a cave on Mount Crumpet. His main source of aggravation comes during Christmastime when his neighbors in Whoville celebrate the holidays with a bang. When the Whos decide to make Christmas bigger and brighter, the disgruntled Grinch realizes there is one way to gain peace and quiet. With help from Max, the green grump hatches a scheme to pose as Santa Claus, steal Christmas and silence the Whos’ holiday cheer once and for all.
We also play Mr. Green’s interview with actor Fran Kranz and director Brett Simmons about their new film You Might Be The Killer at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival. The film had a great showing at the festival and also aired on SYFY throughout October. You’ll hear Green’s full interview with the guys. Inspired by an exchange of tweets between Sam Sykes and Chuck Wendig, You Might Be The Killer (directed by Brett Simmons) is the story of a camp counsellor who finds himself in the middle of a cliched scary movie massacre. Looking for guidance on what to do to stay alive, he calls his friend who happens to be an expert on horror film tropes. While tracing back through his steps, Chuck (Alyson Hannigan) presents the possibility that Sam (Fran Kranz) might actually be the killer.

Our review of Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina starring Kiernan Shipka, Ross Lynch and Lucy Davis. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.
We also speak with actor Sharon Taylor. Sharon is a regular in the genre television world with memorable performances on Stargate: Atlantis and Smallville. She’ll be on to talk about her current role on the 2nd season of Bad Blood, airing Thursdays at 8PM on City TV. Sharon Taylor was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. She first realized her passion for acting during her high school years and loved performing in all the school plays. She worked extensively in theatre for many years before making the leap to TV and film in 2006. Sharon appeared in 12 episodes of Stargate: Atlantis. Sharon is also known for her role as the Kryptonian Faora in season 9 of Smallville and as the evil Empress Amara in the acclaimed web-series Riese. She has since worked on many other different TV shows and movies.

    Show Notes:
We talk with performer and voice actor Alyson Court. Alyson is probably best known for her time on The Big Comfy Couch as Loonette, but she’s also been the voice of some of your favourite cartoon characters. You’ve heard her as Lydia on Beetlejuice, Jubilee on X-Men, and Claire Redfield in the Resident Evil Games. She talks about her body of work and upcoming convention appearances. Alyson Court is a Canadian actress who first appeared in the 1985’s Sesame Street Presents: Follow That Bird, and played Dawn in the animated film The Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation the following year. She also played Loonette the Clown, the lead character of The Big Comfy Couch, from 1992 to 2003. Alyson has also been the only actress to voice Claire Redfield, in the Resident Evil series, having voiced her in Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil Code: Veronica, the CG animation movie Resident Evil: Degeneration, and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles.
Our review of First Man starring Ryan Gosling, Claire Foy and Jason Clarke. On the heels of their six-time Academy Award®-winning smash, La La Land, Oscar®-winning director Damien Chazelle and star Ryan Gosling reteam for Universal Pictures’ First Man, the riveting story of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon, focusing on Neil Armstrong and the years 1961-1969. A visceral, first-person account, based on the book by James R. Hansen, the movie will explore the sacrifices and the cost—on Armstrong and on the nation—of one of the most dangerous missions in history.
We also speak with Michael Antonakos. Michael voices Alexios in Ubisoft’s latest release in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Micheal talks about his voice and motion capture experience for the game. Michael Antonakos has been performing since he was nine years old and spent his youth with the Rocky Mountain Shakespeare Company.  After leaving the University of Victoria he moved to Vancouver B.C, where he began focusing on film and television, but his career path shifted when he landed his first video game audition with Lord Of the Rings: The Third Age. Because of his physical abilities to transform into other people/creatures and create new unrecognizable voices he became well-known performance capture actor in the video game world. He is currently starring as Alexios in Ubisoft’s Assassins Creed Odyssey.
