Geek Life – The Indie Comics Podcast

This week we spotlight Elements Of Light by Tyrone Selby. This professional level indie comic had us impressed right from the first page. With an engaging story, impressive art and such a rich world, this is an excellent canvas to tell a story. Tyrone’s EOL is just plain quality reading. We highly recommend this one and look forward to seeing what happens in issue 2! Be sure to check out Elements of Light on EOLComic.com, follow the comic on twitter @ElementsOfLight and like the EOL facebook Page!

Lately JP’s been listening to Dauntless by Jack Campbell (book one of The Lost Fleet series). This space epic is instantly enthralling and has such an interesting main character that he just can’t put it down. You can grab your free book at AudibleTrial.com/GeekLife and Dauntless by Jack Cambell is a great place to start!

This week we spotlight the bold new comic by Jala Prendes, Ces’t La Mort. This book has a striking visual style with biting commentary on our everyday lives and how we live them. We’re glad this is a weekly comic because we’re already dying to know what happens next! Ce’st La Mort follows Porter Graemes as he declines judgment at that hands of death and chooses instead to linger as a “shade”. His journey has only begun, and we’re looking forward to reading more of this interesting take on the afterlife. You can read Ces’t La Mort at CestLaMortComic.com. Be sure to check out more from Neon Skies Studio at NeonSkiesStudio.com, follow Jala on Twitter @NeonSkiesStudio, see her latest deviations at JalaChan.DeviantArt.com and Like her facebook Page!

This week we spotlight the excellent comic DASS by John Jamtli. DASS follows the indomitable Petter Dass, real life Lutheran clergyman and foremost Norwegian poet of his generation. However, in this comic he is also a wizard battling against witches, demons and trolls, all set in the beautiful Nordic countryside! So basically Petter Dass is a frikkin bad ass. The comic comes in iOS app form and will make future issues available through in-app purchases. The app is well made, easy to use and navigate presenting the comic nicely. We had lots of fun learning about some Norwegian history and mythology while reading this comic and just can’t recommend it enough. You can purchase DASS for the low low price of $1.99 on the iOS app store. Be sure to check out the DASS homepage and like their facebook page!
