Geek Nerdery

WHO IS THE BLURRY FIGURE WHO LEFT THE NOTES? The world may never know, but that won’t stop us from speculating. We see a Challenge this week. It’s underwater and at night. But no elimination. Maybe one of these weeks we’ll see a full episode. This time around Shane and Victor are friends until they’re not, Britni and Cara make out, Nicole and Kyle make out, and our worlds are turned upside down.

Work commitments kept us from recording a new Midnight Drive-In this week so we decided to dust off a classic episode of The Last Horrorcast and drop it in for a nostalgic look back before Bryan and Noah were on the show.  Enjoy.

Grab a blanket and some hot chocolate. This week we are discussing a couple winter horror films. Despite some major technical issues during recording, we managed to actually record few thoughts on Frozen (2010) and We Are Still Here (2015).

We had a lot of fan mail this week, as well as some updates on our ongoing contest. Be sure to listen for the update.

Once again the listener requests take your hosts into uncharted territory, and this time it’s full of vegetables. Join Scott and Wes as they discuss Sir Cucumber, Percy, and their quest to rescue Princess Tomato from the evil Minister Pumpkin.

Well, it’s a filler episode but maybe, just maybe it means next week we’ll get a challenge and an elimination. The rookie girls get riled up and fight, and we don’t really see much else going on otherwise. This elimination will go down as one of the most hardcore we’ve seen so far. We’ve listened to your feedback and we appreciate it. We’ll keep the long form episodes as long as no one complains.

We’re taking you back to a time of swords, wizards, and apparently a lot of rape.  It’s Deathstalker and Yor The Hunter From The Future!  Then we also chat about conventions, Bryan’s beef with Marc Singer, The Last Man On Earth, Harry Brown, Blue Ruin, I, Tonya, and The Midnight Man.

Pizzagate isn’t just a weird alt-right conspiracy theory. It’s also an episode of The Challenge, where Brad comes back as his intense, passionate self and starts a half-million dollar fight over pizza. Was it worth it? We get trivia and a food challenge combined, and a Challenger tries his best to redeem himself and win for his team.

Welcome to a long episode.  Why?  Well we start off the show with Noah asking who is the best Muppet and devolve into the politics of gay unions on Sesame Street.  We finally do talk about some Motel Horror with Eaten Alive and Motel Hell.  After that we chat about A Nightmare On Elm Street, Return Of The Living Dead, and some SNL with I Am Chris Farley.  Also a listener email brings a secret about the show to the foreground that not everyone may know.

About a year ago there was this big gathering in front of the White House. Uh… some things happened, some things that a fair amount of people weren’t exactly happy about. Some people spoke out, some people wrote songs. The first 5 songs on this podcast are some of those songs. Some written as a reaction to the man himself, others to the climate America has started to find itself in. The last 3 songs are also political in nature but don’t have the same target. In particular, the final song is really something we should all keep in mind for the next 3 years.

It’s our goal this time around to make sure our recaps take less time than watching the actual episode. Do we succeed? Hell yes. We always do. We see a pathetic showing of an elimination and get some real-time behind the scenes about the elimination. We also see some of the very worst politicking in the history of The Challenge. We leave on yet another cliffhanger of an Inquisition. Who will the Troika end up sending in?
