This week we are talking about the continuing occupation of Minnesota by ICE agents. We don’t know what you’ve read or seen but we are talking about first hand experiences as we are in the middle of it here. While we recorded this episode a little while ago, we want you all to know it is still happening and our friends and neighbors continue to be targeted. Fuck ICE.

This week we are taking a look at the third installment in the Knives Out film franchise – “Wake Up Dead Man!” Daniel Craig returns as Benoit Blanc to solve the mystery of a murdered priest. There is a whole lot of religion in this movie and that makes it even more on topic for us to talk about on this podcast! How do we feel about the religion? You’ll have to listen to find out! But beware! There are spoilers here!

It is the beginning of a new year and one of the traditions many of us follow is the creation of New Year’s Resolutions. Are they worth it? Do they help? We talk about some of our choices when it comes to resolutions and how we feel about the whole concept that surrounds them.

It’s the holiday season and we all know what that means – bell ringers at every supermarket trying to guilt you into giving money to the Salvation Army! Well don’t. They are still as homophobic as they always were and they do things like Mission trips to third world countries. We use this episode to remind you that there are a lot of other ways you can give to your fellow humans during this season and really all year round. And remember – your time can be even more important than your money so if you can’t afford to give financially but you have some extra time, consider volunteering!

This week we are joined once again by our friend Joseph Scrimshaw. Joseph has just finished writing, directing, producing and editing his first feature film – Dead Media! We had the opportunity to attend the premiere and now have a chance to sit down with Joseph and talk to him about the creation of the film. He’s still working on distribution rights so, in an unusual first for us, we are NOT spoiling the shit out of the movie. We shall leave that to you when the film is available for watching! We certainly hope that is soon because we all really enjoyed it!

As is our tradition, we recorded an episode about OmegaCon, which is a little relxacon the three of us attend in Siren Wisconsin every year. There is typically a lot of tabletop gaming at the con so we are doing a review of the games we played reviewing which we enjoyed and which maybe needed a little more work. Spoiler: Discount Salmon needed a little more work.

This week we are talking about an independently produced film we have no idea how you could possibly see! The film, D(e)ad was created by Izzy Roland. The film features Roland, a lot of members of their family, and a bunch of comedians from Dropout TV and is a surprisingly heartfelt comedy about loss and coming to terms with difficult family members. We recommend you figure out how to watch it!

This week’s episode takes a look at the Riyadh Comedy Festival. A whole bunch of comedians got paid a lot of money to perform at this festival, which had some pretty serious limits on what kind of jokes they could tell. Of course, it raised the same old questions about what comedians can and cannot tell jokes about although that is really more about what they should and should not tell jokes about. We offer our opinion on the matter as three comedians who were not invited to appear! We also get to answer five questions from a listener for the first time in quite a while!

We get a bonus helping to Tony Miller this week! He sits down to talk about resilience and resistance in a time of fascism. The world we live in can be exhausting. How do we keep going and find the energy not only to simply exist but to continue resisting? We talk about what we are doing to keep ourselves focused and fighting. Tony also brings us five questions!
