AI and GenAI are the top two reasons cloud spending is rising. Another giant driver is automation. A recent study by Vanson Bourne, commissioned by Tangoe, reveals that cloud spending has risen by 30% YoY on average due to GenAI, with a staggering 72% of IT and financial leaders finding these costs unmanageable. “And what we saw is nearly all organizations are planning to re-repatriate some portion of workloads to private cloud,” says Chris. “Some workloads are getting repatriated back to the private cloud because that's their ideal space for operating… It's very much a public and private cloud world, or as everybody likes to say, a hybrid world in this regard.” Chris outlines how the report offers insights into how resources can be well invested and how efficiencies remain to be found.
